Dream and Reason: Paradoxes of the Sublime — Opening Event

Gallery Lane Cove opens its new printmaking exhibition Dream and Reason: Paradoxes of the Sublime on Wednesday 26 August, with Archibald and Sulman Prize winner Wendy Sharpe AM headlining alongside five leading Australian printmakers. The show explores the Romantic idea of the sublime, that unsettling mix of awe and fear found in nature’s vast, overwhelming forces.

Sharpe’s large-scale gestural monotypes fill Gallery 1, while Andrew Totman, Juanita McLauchlan, Salvatore Gerardi, Annika Romeyn and Bridget Hillebrand bring contemporary printmaking across Galleries 2 and 3. The exhibition also marks 60 years of the Australian Print Council and 65 years of the Sydney Printmakers.

The opening event runs from 6pm to 8pm. RSVP essential.
