Family picnic and planting day

Bring the family along for a relaxed and hands-on day in the park, where nature, community and connection come together.
This free, family-friendly activation invites residents to get involved in enhancing their local open space through hands-on planting activities while connecting with others in the community. Guided by Council horticulturists, participants will learn simple planting skills, contribute to local biodiversity and help beautify the park for future generations to enjoy.
Following the planting session, the event will continue with a relaxed community picnic and complimentary pressed dried flower frame workshop, providing opportunities for residents to connect, enjoy the outdoors and celebrate their contribution to the local environment.
Complimentary hot drinks will be available for those who bring their own reusable cups. Families are encouraged to bring along their own picnic food, a blanket and enjoy quality time together in the park.
