Let’s Go Bug Hunting at Stringybark Creek
Families can get knee-deep in local science at Let’s Go Bug Hunting, a free Lane Cove Council outing at Stringybark Creek in Batten Reserve on Saturday 7 November from 9:00am to 11:00am.
Kids dip-net the creek for water bugs and sift through leaf litter for the smaller critters that live on the bush floor. What they find is logged for Water Bug Blitz, a national citizen science program that tracks the health of our waterways. Council supplies all the nets, trays and magnifiers.
The session suits children aged 5 and up. Every adult and child needs their own ticket and places are capped at eight, so book early. The exact meeting point is sent out after booking.
