In the Cove is giving you a chance to win a Family Pass (2 Adults and 2 Kids).  All you have to do is fill out the online form and tell us in 25 Words or Less Your Favourite Feature on the ITC Website or Social Media Platforms and Why?

The competition closes at midnight 20th March 2024.  (an individual early bird ticket is valued at $27.50.  Make sure you include your name, postal address and email address.  This competition is only open to people living or working in the Lane Cove Council Area and proof of residency/business place may be required.  See full terms and conditions here.

JUDGING OF ENTRIES AND JUDGING CRITERIA

All entries in the Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competition will be personally judged by a panel of appointed judges.

Judging will take place from 16 December till 18 December.  Winners Announced 20 December 2023. You are required to leave your display on during the judging period as judging will take place randomly. If your lighting display is not on throughout the duration of the judging period you will be deemed ineligible and disqualified from the competition.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS COMPETITION GUIDELINES

Judging will be based on the following key factors:

Originality of the Display
Use of Colour in the display
Layout and Design of the display
Use of lighting, animation and sound
Interaction with the community
Additional effort put into the display but remember more does not always equal winning.

MERRIEST MAILBOX GUIDELINES

The Judging Panel will consist of a member of the community and a previous winner of the Light Up Lane Cove Competition.

Competition Terms & Conditions

  3. The competition commences at 7.00 am (AEST) on 27 November 2023 and entries must be registered by 11.59pm (AEST) on 15th December 2023.
  4. Entry to the ITC Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competition and Merriest Mailbox is free. Entrants must nominate the category of  Best House or Best Apartment or Best Apartment Block (if you are entering as a block you must have the consent of your body corporate)
  5. All entries must be located in the Lane Cove Local Government Area or Lane Cove North.
  6. Christmas Light Displays belonging to Judging Panel members, Sponsors, In the Cove employees or their immediate families are ineligible to enter.
  7. All prizes are awarded at the discretion of the Judging Panel, whose decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. At the Judging Panel’s discretion entries may be judged in categories other than the one entered.
  9. Entrants must have their light display on from 1st December till 18 December for judging purposes. Lights not on between this period will result in the entrant’s house not being judged.
  10. All houses and apartments entered are advertised . In the Cove will not be liable for damaged or stolen Christmas decorations (including lights) or damage to other property or liable for any loss or damage to visitors viewing your property.  If you allow visitors to enter your property you do so at your own risk and should ensure you have public liability insurance.
  11. Christmas lights and decorations must be on show until 26 December 2022.
  12. Entrants must send their best photo of their Christmas Lights display or Merriest Mailbox by email to [email protected] by 15 December 2023.
  13. Local businesses will be approached to sponsor the prizes for the Christmas Lights Competition.
  14. First Prize will be awarded for best house, best apartment and best apartment block.  The prize is $200 for Christmas Lights provided by Rebecca Mitchell Raine & Horne Lower North Shore.  Second and Third Prize will be for Best House and Best Apartment only. Second Prize is $100.00 per category.  Third Prize is $50 per category.  Other prize categories may be included at the discretion of the promotor.  There are two prizes of $100 each for the best Merriest Mailbox Home/Individual Apartment.  There are two prizes of $100 each for the best Merriest Mailbox Apartment Block.  If there are insufficient entries in one category we reserve the right to award more prizes in the other catgeories.
  15. People’s Choice Award will be decided by the number of likes on your post. on ITC’s Facebook Page Album. There is no people’s choice for the Merriest Mailbox.  The prize is $150.00. Voting concludes at 11.59 pm on 19 December 2023.
  16. Christmas Light Display and Merriest Mailbox owners agree to allow their displays to be photographed by In the Cove or by the general public. Photographs may be reproduced in In the Cove for promotional material to be used by In the Cove at its discretion.
  17. If requested, a successful applicant will also be available or willing to make a representative available for publicity purposes.
  18. All entrants will be entered into the ‘People’s Choice’ category and agree to have their home photographed and displayed on social media/website for judging.
  19. Entrants must take into consideration their local environment and neighbours and ensure their displays present no danger to the general public. Consideration must be given to the noise and levels of light emitted by your display.
  20. Applicants will be required to submit a completed Christmas Lights Competition Application Form by the due date.
  21. In the Cove, nor the parties or sponsors involved, will accept any responsibility or will be liable for any injury, loss or damage to an entrant’s property as a result of participation in the In the Cove Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competition.
  22. Winners will be announced on In the Cove on 18 December 2023. People Choice closes 21st December 2023 at 11.59 pm

In the Cove 2022 Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competiton

JUDGING OF ENTRIES AND JUDGING CRITERIA

All entries in the Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competition will be personally judged by a panel of appointed judges.

Judging will take place from 16 December till 18 December. You are required to leave your display on during the judging period as judging will take place randomly. If your lighting display is not on throughout the duration of the judging period you will be deemed ineligible and disqualified from the competition.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS COMPETITION GUIDELINES

Judging will be based on the following key factors:

Originality of the Display
Use of Colour in the display
Layout and Design of the display
Use of lighting, animation and sound
Interaction with the community
Additional effort put into the display but remember more does not always equal winning.

The Judging Panel will consist of a member of the community and a previous winner of the Light Up Lane Cove Competition.

Competition Terms & Conditions

  4. Entry to the ITC Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competition is free. Entrants must nominate the category of Best Street or Best House or Best Apartment.
  5. All entries must be located in the Lane Cove Local Government Area or Lane Cove North.
  6. Christmas Light Displays belonging to Judging Panel members, Sponsors, In the Cove employees or their immediate families are ineligible to enter. If any of the above live in a nominated best street, that street will be eligible as long as they are not nominated by any of the people described above.
  7. All prizes are awarded at the discretion of the Judging Panel, whose decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  8. At the Judging Panel’s discretion entries may be judged in categories other than the one entered.
  9. Entrants must have their light display on from 16 December till 18 December.  or judging purposes. Lights not on between this period will result in the entrant’s house not being judged.
  10. All streets and houses entered are advertised (excluding house numbers). In the Cove will not be liable for damaged or stolen Christmas decorations (including lights) or damage to other property or liable for any loss or damage to visitors viewing your property.  If you allow visitors to enter your property you do so at your own risk and should ensure you have public liability insurance.
  11. Christmas lights and decorations must be on show until 26 December 2022.
  12. Entrants must send their best photo of their Christmas Lights display by email to [email protected] by 16 December 2022.
  13. Local businesses will be approached to sponsor the prizes for the Christmas Lights Competition.
  14. First Prizewill be awarded for each category.  The prize is a $150 provided by Rebecca Mitchell Raine & Horne Lower North Shore.  Second Prize is $50.00 per category. Other prize categories may be included at the discretion of the promotor.
  15. People’s Choice Award will be decided by the number of likes on your post. To be eligible you must upload a photo to our Facebook Page Album and send us an email attaching the page link and include your name and email address and residential address.
  16. Christmas Light Display owners agree to allow their displays to be photographed by In the Cove or by the general public. Photographs may be reproduced in In the Cove for promotional material to be used by In the Cove at its discretion.
  17. If requested, a successful applicant will also be available or willing to make a representative available for publicity purposes.
  18. All entrants will be entered into the ‘People’s Choice’ category and agree to have their home photographed and displayed on social media/website for judging.
  19. Entrants must take into consideration their local environment and neighbours and ensure their displays present no danger to the general public. Consideration must be given to the noise and levels of light emitted by your display.
  20. Applicants will be required to submit a completed Christmas Lights Competition Application Form by the due date.
  21. In the Cove, nor the parties or sponsors involved, will accept any responsibility or will be liable for any injury, loss or damage to an entrant’s property as a result of participation in the In the Cove Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competition.

JUDGING OF ENTRIES AND JUDGING CRITERIA

All entries in the Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competition will be personally judged by a panel of appointed judges.

Judging will take place from 16 December till 19 December you are required to leave your display on during the judging period as judging will take place randomly. If your lighting display is not on throughout the duration of the judging period you will be deemed ineligible and disqualified from the competition.

CHRISTMAS LIGHTS COMPETITION GUIDELINES

Judging will be based on the following key factors:

Originality of the Display
Use of Colour in the display
Layout and Design of the display
Use of lighting, animation and sound
Interaction with the community
Additional effort put into the display but remember more does not always equal winning.

The Judging Panel will consist of a member of the community and a previous winner of the Light Up Lane Cove Competition.

  6. All prizes are awarded at the discretion of the Judging Panel, whose decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  7. At the Judging Panel’s discretion entries may be judged in categories other than the one entered.
  8. Entrants must have their light display on from 16 December till 19 December  or judging purposes. Lights not on between this period will result in the entrant’s house not being judged.
  9. All streets and houses entered are advertised (excluding house numbers). In the Cove will not be liable for damaged or stolen Christmas decorations (including lights) or damage to other property
  10. Christmas lights and decorations must be on show until 26 December 2021.

  1. Information on how to enter form part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions.
  2. The promoter is the In the Cove, ABN84 090 011 733, P O Box 1064 Lane Cove NSW.
  3. Entry is open to all permanent residents of Australia. Employees and their immediate families of In the Cove and participating restaurants associated with the promotion are ineligible to enter the competition.
  4. The competition commences at 7.00 am (AEST) on 23 March 2019 and closes at 11.59pm (AEST) on 30 March 2019. All photos uploaded must have been taken in the week of the promotion.

  1. Only entries submitted via Instagram/Facebook and which are appropriately hashtagged and tagged will be accepted. Photographs submitted must be original works.
  2. Judging will take place during the week of 31 March 2019 to 4 April 2019. If the winner is under the age of 18 years, the prize will be awarded to their parent or legal guardian.
  3. The competition is a game of skill and chance plays no part in the selection of the winner. Submissions will be judged Sarah Clare, according to the following criteria:
    • The relevance of the submitted photo to the theme in question, as decided by our judge.
    • Artistic interpretation of the theme, as decided by our judge.
    • Lickibility factor – does our judge want to lick the photo.
    • Originality of the submission. Entries that are deemed to not belong to or be taken by the user will not be eligible.
  4. Judge’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. Prizes cannot be transferred. Non-cash prizes cannot be redeemed for cash. Some prizes have conditions attached as to when they may be used.
  5. The promoter reserves the right to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entry which, in the opinion of promoter, includes objectionable content, profanity, potentially insulting, inflammatory or defamatory statements, disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process, who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions of entry or who has, in the opinion of promoter, engaged in conduct in entering the promotion which is fraudulent, misleading, deceptive or generally damaging to the goodwill or reputation of the promotion and/or promoter. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify a winner if the promoter becomes aware that the winner and/or the winner’s entry is of a type described in this clause.
  6. Entries must be received by 11.59pm (AEST) 30 March 2019. The promoter accepts no responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected entries due to technical disruptions, network congestion or for any other reason.
  7. Use of images:1 All images published on Instagram with #lanecovedining may be moderated and displayed on the website and social media channels of In the Cove and the participating restaurants. These images and associated usernames will be public to all.11.2 By entering the competition and accepting the terms and conditions you agree that you hereby license the rights to use your photo submission to In the Cove and the participating restaurants on any of its websites or social media channels, or for advertising and promotion of its products, services, and/or its company in any media now known or hereafter developed in perpetuity in exchange for no compensation of any kind.
  8. Use of personal information:12.1 By entering the competition and accepting the terms and conditions, you agree that In the Cove and the participating restaurants may use your personal details for the purpose of conducting the competition, including the use of your Instagram name/Facebook name in promotional formats.12.2 By entering the competition, you give the In the Cove permission to contact you via Instagram/Facebook if you are a winner of the competition for the purpose of distributing your prize to you.
  9. The promoter reserves the right to request winners to provide proof of identity and proof of residency at the nominated prize delivery address. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter.
  10. The promoter reserves the right to refuse to allow a winner to take part in any or all aspects of the prize, if the promoter determines, in their absolute discretion, that a winner is not in the mental or physical condition necessary to be able to safely participate in the prize. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winner may be required to sign a legal release in a form determined by the promoter in its absolute discretion.
  11. The promoter shall endeavour to contact the winners via their Instagram/Facebook account within one week of the judge’s decision. In the event that the winner/s cannot be contacted after one month, an alternate winner/s will be selected, and the original winner/s will forfeit any prize. The unclaimed prize judging will take place on Friday 30th April 2019.
  12. The promoter shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or for any personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with any prize/s, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.
  13. The promoter is not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, either caused by the phone user or for any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilised in this competition, or for any technical error, or any combination thereof that may occur in the course of the administration of this competition including any omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line or satellite network failure, theft or destruction or unauthorised access to or alteration of entries.
  14. If for any reason this competition is not capable of running as planned, including due to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures or any causes beyond the control of the promoter, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, the promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, take any action that may be available, and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the competition, subject to any written direction given under state regulation.
