Who doesn’t love browsing for homewares?! Be it shopping for the perfect cake stand; updating the every-day glassware; finding a gift for the mother-in-law; sourcing a statement chair to impress the neighbours; or just treating yourself to the latest must-have gadget. Well, look no further than Lane Cove – we’ve got you covered!
If you head down Burns Bay Road, past Lane Cove Bowling Club, just along from Renegade Cycles, next door to Agora IGA Express, you’ll come across Stella Bella Home. You may have noticed their tres cool bright pink caravan out the front (where you can buy coffee!). Stella Bella is a “boutique homewares, furniture and children’s clothing store”. But we think their USP (unique selling point, don’t you know!) is that they will source furniture/homewares items for you – if you are looking for that standout item to ‘finish’ your newly decorated room, pop in and have a chat to owner Nikki.
Once you have ‘found’ them, in the middle of Lane Cove Arcade (aka Snowberry Arcade), we predict you will return to Found Gifts & Homewares regularly. If the friendly service isn’t enough to bring you back, their fab range of homewares, household gadgets, jewellery, clothing and gifts, will.
And how about Iris & Lin, located on Longueville Road, near Flight Centre. This shop draws you in, with their colourful displays of homewares (think statement cushions and bowls, and the odd wooden magpie), mixed with everyday jewellery, clothing and gifts. If you would like to read more about Iris & Lin read our blog here.
Not forgetting the longest homewares stayer in these parts, Romantic Notions, who have been established in the area since 1951!! Pop in for more ‘old school’ style homewares and gifts (including a good range of traditional Christening presents), plus some garden furniture and adornments, and so much more, hidden throughout this larger than expected shop on Longueville Road, next to the Commonwealth Bank.
Perhaps best known for their jewellery and accessories, Zjoosh (located right on Lane Cove Plaza), also has a lovely range of stylish homewares, in the back half of their shop. Furniture, glassware, silverware, and more – pop in for a sticky beak, and tell them ITC sent you. Zjoosh is a Lane Cove success story, if you would like to find out more about their founder Kellie Rigney read our blog here.
Nearby, another place you may not have realised stock homewares, is PureFlowers, which is located in ‘The Cake Man arcade’. Home to simply gorgeous flowers, they also stock a selection of vases, jugs and bowls, which can be purchased filled with flowers, or as is. Pureflowers also has some fabulous flower arranging courses you can attend. Find our more about Pureflowers here
Like them or loathe them, two other homewares stockists in our fair suburb are Hot Dollar and Smart Bargains Homeware. These discount homewares stores, or ‘Two dollar shops’ as they are often called, sell just about any random thing you might need, or not even realise you need until you see it.
It was a sad day when One Village closed its door, but the good news is that they are still trading online, with a shiny new website coming soon. In the meantime, you can continue to contact Yumi through the One Village Facebook page.
One last mention – coming soon, to a prime position on the plaza, is The Hunted, who currently have a shop in Cammeray. They stock “well-made, quality homewares & objects from local businesses”. Bring it!
