In the Cove Facebook Fans Top Five Questions

Every day In the Cove (ITC) is asked (either via PM or our Email address) questions about living in Lane Cove.

Here are the top five questions:

Where do I find a Justice of the Peace in Lane Cove?

Several Council employees are, in a voluntary capacity, registered Justices of the Peace (JP’s).

To provide residents with a more predictable JP service, you can now have your documents witnessed by a JP at the Lane Cove Council Civic Centre Monday to Friday between 12:00pm to 1:00pm.  Lane Cove Library also has a JP service on Wednesday afternoons between 1pm to 3pm.  If you require a JP outside of these times, you may also search for a JP in your local area through the Justice of the Peace Register.

Fay Frischer  provides a community service in the Lane Cove Library providing legal advice on Monday nights from 6pm-8pm at Lane Cove Library.   A Solicitor (who holds a current practising certificate) can sign any document that requires witnessing by a Justice of the Peace.

Several ITC Facebook Fans have also advised they will witness documents as a JP – the easiest person to contact is Ivanna at Conveyancing Headquarters in Riverview (next door to Riverview Reality) at Yorks Corner.  Check out their Facebook page for contact details.  Ivanna just asks that you call or email and make an appointment, otherwise, she is happy for you to pop in, however, you may have to wait if she is seeing a client or has a client scheduled to come in.

Another person who is happy to help you out is Adam from  Aussie Lane Cove.  You can pop in and see Adam at Aussie Lane Cove, Mon-Fri 9a.m.-5p.m. (opposite Belle Property). He is  happy for you to pop in anytime, however, to avoid any clashes it’d be better if you call or email and make an appointment.
