There has been a bit of action in Lane Cove this month, with a few new exciting businesses opening up and some favourites closing. So lets get our round up under way!

Opened

Greenhouse Salads

The owners of Greenhouse Salads Josef and Lane has some very cheffy credentials behind them.  They told ITC food can be very yummy and healthy at the same time.They know it is hard to get people to want to eat salads, so how are they going to change this (because in the words of that great 20th-century icon Bart Simpson – you don’t make friends with salad). All their salads will be made fresh. Crisp lettuce, crunchy nuts, tender meat, fresh vegetables, sweet fruits to name just a few and it’s all served warm.

It’s designed as a lunch option dine-in or take-away for health conscious office people or for people who just want to live/change to a more energized healthy life, but it also appeals to vegans or allergic suffering (diabetes) people. The focus will be on salads served as main course.

Quartet Display Suite

The Gloria Jeans Shop has reopened as a Display Suite for Quartet Lane Cove.  You might be surprised that ITC is letting you know about a development.  ITC was approached by Lane Cove Ray White who advised that one of the directors of the company behind Quartet lives in Lane Cove.  They wanted to know about local Lane Cove community groups they could look at assisting.  They also wanted to know about ITC’s campaign to increase public transport to the area and how they could work with the local community.  As previously said ITC is not anti-development (because it is going to happen – we are pro-infrastructure and support), so it was refreshing to see this group approach us.

This development will have Terraces and Units – so if you are looking to downsize in Lane Cove this might be the development for you.  You can register your interest on their website.

Flex Hearing Clinic

A new beauty salon has opened in the old Stella Bella Home premises.  They are located next door to Agora IGA Express.

The Sushi Bar is returning to Lane Cove, and it will be much bigger and have a licence. They will be located in the old Warwick Dawson Shop.

Dkor Interiors

Dkor Interiors will be opening here soon.  They specialise in European bed heads, furniture and homewares. They will also custom make furniture for you. The store is located near the Commonwealth Bank on Longueville Road.

The Source Bulk Foods Lane Cove

The Source Bulk Foods will open on March 4 in the Lane Cove Market Square (next to Trendsettter Travel). A revolution on an age old shopping concept – The Source Bulk Foods brings back personal service and provides a fun and interactive no waste shopping experience. You can choose from an amazing selection of bulk wholefoods, health foods and a huge range of paleo, gluten free, organic & vegan products.  It is BYOC – Bring Your Own Container or you will be provided with brown paper bags.

The Cakeman has closed The Den (the upstairs bar).  It may reopen in another format.  It is interesting that we hear very often that Lane Cove wants a small bar and tapas, however this small bar did not have the foot traffic needed.
