ITC loves to brunch (fav meal of the day). Mowbray Eatery Lane Cove North, is one of our favourite places to brunch in Lane Cove. Located just off Mowbray Road near St Peter’s Aged Car Facility, it is set back from the road, and has a lovely green you can look at while you brunch. The outdoor seating area is quite big, and is set around a large paperbark tree (which looks stunning at night when it is illuminated).
Mowbray Eatery has just launched their latest spring/summer brunch menu to take advantage of seasonal products.
I had the pea and corn fritters with a poached egg. This dish certainly feels like you are eating a spring meal as it is accompanied by fresh herbs. It was delicious. My only criticism was that it would be even better with creme fraiche.
Mr ITC had the Mowbray Eatery Eggs Benedict. One of Mr ITC’s pet hates is hollandaise sauce with no flavour (many restaurants do not make their own hollandaise sauce). Mr ITC can assure you that the hollandaise was home made and smooth (with that subtle taste of vinegar).
Miss ITC is a traditionalist so she had the Mowbray Eatery Big Breakfast with scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were as smooth as silk.
Miss ITC also had the freshly squeezed OJ, which was just the thing for a hot day.
Mowbray Eatery, has in the past, been criticised for its service. Since Tasia came on board that has changed dramatically. We were eating brunch in a packed restaurant on a Sunday morning and the meals came quite quickly. If you have not been to Mowbray Eatery for a while, ITC suggests you try it again.
Mowbray Eatery is also very kid friendly with play equipment located right next to the restaurant.
