2017 is the Year of the Massage – A Visit to Massage Envy Lane Cove

At In the Cove headquarters we like to try out new things in Lane Cove, so as 2016 drew to an end, ITC decided to reward our hard work website administrator with a massage from new kid on the block Massage Envy Lane Cove. As part of our Shop Local for Christmas Campaign, ITC purchased a massage voucher for Sue as a thank you gift for all the work she does on our website (and behind the scenes answering PM’s and Emails). Sue loved the massage so much she put pen to paper (okay her fingers on the keyboard) and wrote a review of her Massage Envy Lane Cove Massage.

Instead of the regular New Year’s Resolutions of getting fit, eating healthy, drinking less, yada yada yada, I resolved to be better to myself, and try to relax more and de-stress.

After failing dismally at trying to learn to meditate in 2016 (which I had hoped would be a way to help relax my busy brain), I’ve decided that 2017 will be the Year of the Massage!

In the past, a good massage has helped me to switch off, even just for an hour, and I need more of that. Fortuitously, I was given a gift voucher to Massage Envy for Christmas, so away I went.

Massage Envy Lane Cove is an exciting new concept in massage and beauty treatments. Offering a membership based experience, where members have access to exclusive pricing and rewards. Our total body care philosophy makes sure that clients feel less stress, more energy and improved wellness.

I booked my visit to Massage Envy Lane Cove a few days in advance. Besides my name and contact number, when I phoned to book they asked me if I was after a Remedial or Relaxation massage. I opted for relaxation.

Massage Envy opened in Lane Cove in 2016. It is located in the Anytime Fitness building, near the intersection of Longueville Road and Epping Road.

I arrived 10 mins before my appointment time (as instructed) and filled out a form with personal details, info about injuries etc, what I hoped to gain from my visit, how hard/soft I liked my massage, areas not to massage, and other stuff like that.

I was then shown to the waiting room/relaxation zone, when there was sofas, magazines, cool drinks and tea available. My therapist was to collect me from the room shortly.

Soon after my therapist arrived, and he chauffeured me into a dimly lit massage room, asked me to dis-robe (leaving undies on), and lie face down on the table, under layers of fluffy towels.

The room was quite cool, but the massage bed was heated (my first experience of this!), and pretty comfortable too.

What followed was a very relaxing massage – full body, but with a focus on back & shoulders (as I had requested). The therapist was very professional at all times, and softly spoken (when required) so as not to spoil my massage induced coma.

I liked that there was a towel heater in the room, and warm towels were used to wipe away excess oil as the therapist moved from one area to another.

I left Massage Envy Lane Cove feeling very relaxed and pampered. All staff I encountered were friendly yet professional, and the facilities were modern and clean. Also, a BIG thumbs up to the sound proofing – all I could hear during my massage was relaxing music. I’ve had massages in the past ruined by the sound of phones ringing, traffic, the client in the next room etc.

Thanks, Massage Envy, for helping me work towards switching off in 2017, even if only for an hour or two! I will return xx
