LITTLE LEGENDS – KINDER SPORT

A fun way to learn skills for 2.5 – 5 years.  Each 45 min class incorporates many different activities which cover a  variety of movements. Kinder Sports is a introductory level multidisciplinary sports, exercise and literacy program. LANE COVE TAEKWONDO – WOMBAT KOMBAT

RIVER ROAD TENNIS

River Road Tennis offers the Hot Shot Programme from kids starting from 3 years old.  They also have squads, elite squads, and private coaching sessions. Hot Shots Tennis is a national Tennis Australia program that utilises modified courts and tennis balls to allow kids of all ages and skill level to play the game. Children are separated into appropriate level groups and receive coaching from our team of professionals as well as an introduction to match play!

Hot Shots Launch includes a fun packed half hour lesson each week with professionally trained Coaches. Lesson plans are based on a progressive format with new skills and strokes introduced each week according to their class level, with easy to use techniques.

River Road Tennis offer private lessons between 6:30am – 9pm during the week and 6:30am – 6pm on the weekends. Not sure what you need? We offer FREE TENNIS, this is for new players and involves a 15 minute interview hit with a coach. It enables you to come and have a look at the club, and for one of our coaches to assess your ability in an informal and relaxed environment, and then suggest which program would be most suitable for you. They will also give you a few tips along the way!

MUMS AND BUBS HYDRO AT LANE COVE PHYSIO

Keen to get your baby used to water in a safe and controlled environment?

Postnatal Classes – In the first few months of motherhood, extra energy and patience are required to cope with the onset of any difficulties that may arise. Increased stress can interfere the establishment of a healthy mother-infant attachment.

The aim of the Postnatal Hydrotherapy Class is to promote exercise that is beneficial and safe for both parent and baby.

Our heated hydrotherapy pool affords you and your baby the comfort of experiencing water in a safe, relaxed and fun group environment. The class will be offered twice weekly with parent (either Mum or Dad) and baby. All exercise classes are conducted by qualified physiotherapists who target the strengthening and toning of the important muscle groups (e.g. abdominals, pelvic floor, upper and lower limb postural muscles) while improving cardiovascular fitness post-pregnancy. Monique our Physio is also a qualified Learn-to-swim teacher with experience in teaching parent/baby classes.

The low impact exercise program is designed to improve your general fitness and the strength of your abdominal muscles and pelvic floor. But it’s not all about exercise. There is anecdotal evidence to suggest that babies exposed to time in the hydrotherapy pool with their mum settle better. Postnatal hydrotherapy classes are the perfect chance to start familiarizing your new baby to being in the water.

DANCE SENSATION

The big news is that popular local dance studio Dance Sensation (which has a purpose built dance studio) has launched READY SET DANCE classes.

READY SET DANCE is a one hour combo class including Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Singing, Music and a whole lot of fun! Preschoolers love busting out their coolest Hip Hop moves, learning rhythm through song and movement.

Lane Cove Bush Kids is a joint initiative between Council and the Lane Cove Bushland & Conservation Society. 

Lane Cove Bush Kids aims to engage young children with nature and to encourage a life-long love and care of our environment.It´s also about building community, encouraging connections between local families and increasing knowledge and engagement with the place we live in.

Outdoor nature-centred activities are offered during school terms for 2 to 5 year olds and during school holidays for 2 to 10 year olds. Activities are open to all families residing in the Lane Cove Council and surrounding areas. Programs are produced each term and for school holidays.

SPEECH PATHOLOGISTS

People are often surprised when they learn that speech pathologists work with a wide range of communication and swallowing issues that people may experience across the whole life-span.  To help assist your little ones, speech pathologists work with babies with breastfeeding/swallowing difficulties the toddler who is not talking yet, the pre-schooler with a stutter and the primary school age child struggling with social interaction, language or literacy skills (did you know that speech pathologists are specialists in written language skills, i.e. reading, spelling and writing?).  Read how to encourage early language development here.
