Sustainability Lane
Visit Sustainability Lane on Burns Bay Road.
Sustainability Lane is an annual event organised by Lane Cove Council. The event showcases sustainable living through a variety of stalls, demonstrations and live entertainment. Forming part of the wider Lane Cove Rotary Fair, Sustainability Lane showcases local community groups and businesses who are contributing to a more sustainable Lane Cove.
There will be plenty to entertain the kids with live reptile shows and interactive stalls, and the whole community can stock up on sustainable products and engage in solutions to matters important to them. Experts will be on hand to answer your questions on energy, energy efficiency, living plastic-free, composting, fermenting and permaculture.
The Council Tent will be a hub for advice and giveaways on reducing waste, saving energy, bushcare and backyard habitat.
Council encourages all visitors to bring their own reusable coffee cup and shopping bags on the day, as well as your reusable bottle to fill up for free at the water stations provided by Sydney Water.
Market Stalls
See the big range of market stalls with some new stallholders. The market stalls are on Longueville Road.
The stalls are so varied in nature. There will be one stall by a young entrepreneur who is 12 years old. It is called Peppermint Rose – DIY candles and DIY candle kits.
Customers can make their own “sand candle” or purchase a kit to take home. When making a sand candle, the wax is scooped into the jar in layers to create a unique design. This is a fun and interactive stall for all ages.
Also on offer – various kits to take home: sand candles, soy candles and beeswax candles – these make awesome gifts!
Peppermint Rose will be at stall number 18, (just near Shorties) and offering a 20% discount on the “make your own sand candle” or one of the sand candle kits! (if you like their FB page ) **one per customer
Check out Peppermint Rose FB page: https://www.facebook.com/PeppermintRoseCandles
C3 Church Lane Cove will be there with their . “All we need is love!” campaign. This is what they told ITC:
At last year’s Fair C3 Church Lane Cove decided that strawberry jam was the way to Lane Cove’s hearts (remember our farmers doing it tough after the needles-in-the-strawberries scare?!). We used our creative juices to support some friends in need – both our farmers and our friends at Delvena refuge.
Our hunch was proved right – our jam sold like proverbial hot cakes! Even after we sold out at 11am, Lane Cove you were incredibly generous and kept on giving which helped us to raise over $600 for Delvena!
So once again this year, all kinds of delicious home-made jams will be available for purchase with all proceeds going to Delvena.
We look forward to seeing you at the Fair on Sunday 13th October at our C3 Church stall on Longueville Rd opposite Vinnies.
Don’t get yourself in a pickle! Get yourself in a jam! Let’s Spread the Love together Lane Cove!
Lane Cove Shops
You can also take some time to shop in the Lane Cove Shops – many of them will be open.
Burns Bay Road: Rides
The kids love the rides and the big slide is always a winner.
Road Closures
There will be road closures on the day of the event on Longueville Road from Birdwood Avenue to Central Avenue and Burns Bay Road between Finlayson Street and Tambourine Bay Road.
