    ANZAC Day

Lane Cove residents again came out in force to watch the ANZAC Day service in the Lane Cove Plaza.  Well done to the Lane Cove RSL sub branch and the Lane Cove Council for another moving service.

The Lane Cove ANZAC Day address was about a piece of history honouring local brave soldiers that could have been lost. Read more here.

    Lane Cove Gift Card

Lane Cove Council is very excited at this opportunity to support our local business owners by launching the Lane Cove Gift Card in time for Mother’s Day.

Lane Cove shops, cafes, restaurants and other retail outlets may participate as a redemption store by simply going to www.Whyleavetown.com/register for online registration. The Lane Cove Gift Card is endorsed by eftpos and can be activated via existing point of sale terminals, as such there is no cost to retailers beyond the normal eftpos transaction fee charged by your bank. The Gift Card is intended as an enduring support strategy, it is not Mother’s Day (event) specific, rather intended for the long term but will nonetheless embrace other special days in the calendar.

If you are interested in participating, please note terminals will be activated on 2nd May. Simplistically speaking, the Lane Cove Gift Card acts entirely like any other eftpos backed debit card:

    • Purchase via the Lane Cove Gift Card is exactly the same as with any other eftpos (debit) card
    • Purchase attracts the same transaction fee charged by your bank for any eftpos (debit) card
    • There is no fee to sign up
    • The card is swipe only (not tap and go)
    • Terminal(s) will be activated on 2nd May
    • Register online in just a few minutes

Please don’t hesitate to call (9911 3664) or email ([email protected]) David Stevens – Manager Commercial Operations if you wish to discuss further.

    Crime Report

A Lane Cove woman received an email in mid-April about unlocking her credit card. She thought the email was from her bank. She clicked a link and entered her private information. The Lane Cove woman received an SMS from her bank regarding a suspicious transaction for $2979.39. Police warn locals to be careful of phishing emails that appear to be from banks and other legitimate sources.

On 21st April police were contacted regarding a suspicious intruder in Phoenix St. The intruder gained entry via their back door. While inside the intruder told a female occupant he had ‘followed’ her voice and that she had a ‘calming voice’. The intruder appeared dazed and left the home without incident. The intruder was described as around 30 years old, Asian appearance, wearing a grey beanie, dark grey hooded jumper, light grey shorts and thongs.
