Lane Cove Christmas Lights 2019

Get those Christmas Lights ready. Lane Cove is about to come alive with Christmas Lights.

Goodbye Light Up Lane Cove Hello Lane Cove Christmas Lights

Lane Cove Council is not running the Light Up Lane Cove competition this year.  Each year the Lane Cove Council would publish an online map for locals to see the houses that had made an effort to decorate.

ITC loves seeing a decorated Christmas house. A decorated house is a joy to behold. So get involved Lane Cove.  We wanted to ensure this tradition continues so ITC has launched the Lane Cove Christmas Lights Competition.

This competition aims to help our community discover the local Christmas lights that are proudly displayed throughout Lane Cove.

The Six White Boomers House in Yallambee Street is always a crowd favourite

Which Streets Are the Best Streets To View the Lights

You will be able to see the best streets for lights on our interactive map which will be updated as residents enter the competition.   See the map here.

How to Enter the Lane Cove Christmas Lights Comp

There is $1000 worth of prizes for best home, best apartment, best street, best display featuring animals and people’s choice.

The People’s Choice Awarded will be decided by a Facebook Poll – more details to come.

Thank you to Rebecca Mitchell of Raine & Horne Lane Cove for being our major sponsor. Without Rebecca stepping in to provide prize money and to cover costs, Lane Cove Christmas Lights would not have happened.

The People’s Night – 10th December 2019

We are also encouraging everyone to put aside December 10th ass a night to sit outside with a container and collect money for Bushfire relief.  Ditch the car and walk around the lights in your neighbourhood. Meet your neighbours and drop a gold coin donation into their collection box.

Lane Cove Christmas Lights – Best Street Prize

This is a great excuse to get together with your neighbours and enter the best street competition. Residents of Sutherland Street won the best street prize for years and years.  Which street will finally beat them? Sutherland Street is always a great street to wander down and look at the lights.  This year Sutherland Street is not accessable from the corner of Sutherland Street and Cox’s Lane.  ITC recommends that you park the car and walk down the street.  You can park on Centennial Avenue after 7 pm or Burns Bay Road.

ITC looks forward to seeing your lights.

Thank you to MBE Lane Cove for printing the posters to be displayed on homes – if you need any printing Andrew and his team are local and so helpful.
