Lane Cove Week in Review 19th to 25th January 2020

This week’s biggest news story was the fire at the Lane Cove Public School Hall and Canteen.

Lane Cove Public School Fire

The fire is not being treated as suspicious.  The quick actions of NSW Fire and Rescue led to the fire being contained to the hall and canteen.

Due to the school working hand in hand with the Department of Education and the Lane Cove Council, the hall was being demolished over the Australia Day weekend and school will start for students on Wednesday 29th January 2019.  Read more here.

A Go Fund Me campaign has been set up to help the school recover from this setback.

Changes to Ferry Route will Impact Woolwich and Greenwich Wharf

Transdev (Sydney Ferry operators) are planning to change the F8 Cockatoo Island route serving Cockatoo Island, Woolwich, Greenwich Point and Birchgrove, to and from Barangaroo.

The route will no longer serve Balmain Wharf. The biggest change is that the Ferry will now terminate at Barangaroo and not Circular Quay.  You can have your say on the proposed changes here.
