Does a Lane Cove Resident Have the Best Garden in Sydney?

ITC loves to walk around Lane Cove and we have seen some wonderful gardens.  We don’t think these magical gardens should be hidden from the world.  We want you to enter Sydney’s Best Garden comp and make us proud Lane Cove.

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is on the search for Sydney’s best residential front garden with entries now open for the 2020 Sydney Spring Garden Competition.

After being awarded the Sydney Spring Garden Competition trust in 2019, following a 40-year hiatus, the RAS is proud to continue the late Lt. Col. Charles Christian’s legacy of celebrating excellence in horticulture and awarding those who bring joy to the community through a beautiful garden that can be admired by all.

Sydney Spring Garden Competition Judge, Cecily Roger’s says a front garden brings happiness to not only its creator but the whole community and we agree.

“The Sydney Spring Garden Competition was created to award those who devote so much of time and talent into creating stunning gardens which the entire community can enjoy,” Mrs Rogers said.

“What makes this competition unique is that every garden has to be visible from the street and we actually examine each of the finalist’s gardens from a street view to judge its beauty from the perspective of the local residents.

“I encourage all Sydneysiders to get involved and help us find Sydney’s best front garden in 2020.”

Open to residential front gardens, of any style or size, across the Sydney area, gardens are judged based on design quality, functionality, general maintenance, condition and use of unique and imaginative design qualities.

The 2020 competition is free to enter, and interested Sydneysiders are encouraged to fill in an entry form available on the RAS website and send in a photo of their stunning garden. The esteemed judges will be accepting entries from Monday, 3rd August till Monday, 14th October before selecting their top 10 finalists on Saturday, 19th October.

Onsite judging will occur from 26th – 27th October 2020, and will be followed by the much-anticipated announcement of the 2020 Sydney Spring Garden Competition winner on Monday 2nd November who will take home a $2000 gardening package thanks to Flower Power.
