Happy New Year.  Many local businesses take the opportunity to have a break in the first two weeks of the year.  Relax we are here to help you.

If you NEED a coffee on New Year’s Day Morning (and who doesn’t!?), lunch with no more than 5 friends on New Year’s Day, or you’re all out of a vital ingredient for some New Year baking, we’ve got the intel here with our list of trading hours.

Please note the information collated here is on the basis that restaurants/cafes are still allowed to be open but must comply with 4 sq meter rule and QR codes.

Venues Must Have a Service NSW QR Code

From today all hospitality venues and hairdressers must have a service NSW QR Code.  Paper check-ins are not allowed.  If you don’t have a mobile phone, venues are permitted to use a digital check-in such as an Excel spreadsheet on their own devices.  So if you want coffee today DOWNLOAD the Service NSW app now.  Details here.

Petrol, Convenience Stores, Booze and Yikes I have Locked Myself Out

If you need Petrol and Convenience Store items on New Year’s Day, Jack & Co is open.  You can buy petrol, coffee, ice, snack food and more.

Centro Lane Cove West is open – it is worth checking them out as they have an extensive range and if you are looking for a present for a homesick US, Brazillian, Asian friend they have a big range of foods from overseas to try. Here is a tip – If you live in Riverview you can easily access Centro by walking across Burns Bay Reserve and walking to Hughes Park – so easy and Centro has barista coffee and all your convenience foods.  Find out more about Centro here.

If you need Booze over the Christmas Break Porters, Northwood is OPEN.

If you lock yourself out of your house or you need a replacement lock urgently – Alert Locksmiths and Security operate their emergency service 24 Hours a Day/7 Days a Week.

New Year Clean Up

Many people clean up between the Christmas and New Year holidays. The local op shops and recycling centre are closed until the new year – do not dump

The Community Recycling Centre located at 8 Waltham Street in Artarmon is a one-stop-shop for safely disposing of problem household wastes such as paint, gas bottles, e-waste or motor oil and more.  In other words, problem wastes that can’t be collected via council kerbside waste or recycling collection services all year round.

Lane Cove Library 

The Library staff have requested, that if possible, please do not return books on public holidays (the books stack up as the staff are not there to process the returns as they come in). Library items are not due during the period Christmas to 2 January 2020.
