At around midday today (23 February 2021) a woman, aged in her sixties, was rescued after falling two metres into a drainage canal at the entrance to Bob Campbell Oval.
Two NSW Fire and Rescue crews responded to the incident. A crew from the Narrabeen Fire Station and another crew from Lane Cove Fire Station helped retrieve the woman.
NSW Ambulance advised ITC that she was treated at the scene for head injuries, cuts and bruises and was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
The incident occurred near a Lane Cove Council billboard outlining changes to the Bob Campbell Oval.
In another incident, this morning, NSW Ambulance and Police attended an incident near the Lane Cove TAB and pedestrian crossing. Concerned bystanders looked after the woman while they waited for the ambulance to arrive.
