40 Year Old Greenwich Man Arrested For Drug Possession

Police have charged a 40-year-old Greenwich man with the possession and supply of prohibited drugs following his arrest in Ronald Park, Greenwich last week.

Police will allege that around 6:45 pm Friday 26th February they observed the Greenwich man loitering in Ronald Park, Greenwich, shortly after a vehicle arrived and the man entered the vehicle where an exchange was made. Moments later the vehicle left the location.

Police stopped and searched the Greenwich man locating a large bag containing a white powder, the Greenwich man disclosed to police that it was Cocaine and that he had just purchased 14 grams of the drug that he planned to use with friends at an upcoming bucks weekend.

The male was arrested and taken to Chatswood Police Station where he was charged in relation to the matter. He will face court later this month.

The man was arrested by undercover police officers who just happened to be doing a patrol at the time of the incident.

Aggravated Sexual Assault in Company – Crows Nest

Police have charged a 19 year old Crows Nest man after a young woman was sexually assaulted in Crows Nest over the weekend.

Around 1:45pm Sunday 28th February the young woman attended a home on Burlington Street, Crows Nest. Police will allege while at the home the Crows Nest man produced a replica firearm and threatened the young woman before assaulting her. The assault was reported to police later that day.

Around 1:15pm Monday 1st March police attended an address on Fullers Road, Chatswood and arrested the Crows Nest man. He was taken to Chatswood Police Station where he was charged with a number of offences including; 3 x aggravated sexual assault in company threaten actual bodily by weapon, 2 x aggravated sexually touch another person, take/detain person with intent to obtain advantage and possess unauthorised prohibited firearm. The man was refused bail and will appear in Hornsby Local Court in April.

Assault with a Weapon – Artarmon

Police have charged two men following an assault that occurred on Barton Road, Artarmon last week where a man sustained injuries after being struck in the head with a metal baseball bat.

The two men 32 and 42 both from Artarmon allegedly assaulted another man on Barton Road, Artarmon around 2:00pm Thursday 25th February. The assault is believed to have occurred after two dogs belonging to a one of the accused men and a friend of the victim began fighting. One of the men allegedly punched the victim a number of times before leaving the scene and returning a short time later with a baseball bat and striking the victim in the head with the bat.

Several witnesses contacted police who attended a short time later and arrested the 32 year old male. Several days later police attended an address in St Leonards and arrested the 42 year old man. Both were charged with assault with the older man also being charged with being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence. The two men were granted bail and will face Hornsby Local Court later this month.
