Lane Cove Local Produces an Enchanting Edutainment Sowing Seeds of Fun, Happiness, and Sustainability

Get ready to be whisked away to a world of ancient magic, galactic protectors, and mysterious evils as you join Yummie, on his mission to protect the planet!

Discover the Magic comes to ARA Darling Quarter Theatre for two spectacular shows on Sunday 19 December at 11 am and 2 pm. This performance is a 50-minute production based on ‘Discover the Magic’ – an illustrated, graphic novel published by Yummy Times.

The all-singing, all-dancing musical show is an eco-charity event and highlights a serious issue: we waste 7.3 million tonnes of food each year, enough to fill 13,000 Olympic sized swimming pools. Food waste costs the Australian economy over $20 billion each year.

This unique, magical and musical show, brings this issue to the forefront, as we see a struggling farmer meet 4 girls seeking the knowledge to take on global issues affecting their town. Newly empowered by ‘Yummie’, the Guardian of Seedarious, the girls need help to fend off the evil machinations of ‘Ecorrosion’, who seeks to unravel the very fabric of reality!

Bringing the beloved characters from the novels to life on stage, this, production encourages children to play their part in tackling issues across wellbeing and sustainability – with song and dance, mime and MAGIC!

This fun and fantastical show is the perfect mix of education and entertainment – EDUTAINMENT! – and a mesmerising adventure filled with laughter and fun for primary school-aged children and their families.

The show is being produced by Anne Roze.  Anne is a Greenwich local, author, and crusader promoting healthy, balanced and sustainable living and eating.

As a local for more than 30 years and having raised her two children in Greenwich, Anne is dedicated to her community and often describes her hometown as “like being on holidays”, due to the relaxing natural environment and village atmosphere, despite being so conveniently located close to the city. With the area’s lush greenery acting as such an inspiration, it’s hardly surprising that she and her company are actively involved in the community, focusing on helping everyone to live their best life.
