Greenwich Village Arts Trail is Back – 4th and 5th December 2021

The popular Greenwich Village Arts Trail is on again.

What is the Greenwich Village Arts Trail?

The artists of Greenwich are out of lockdown hibernation and are busy making their studios ready for the Greenwich Village Arts Trail – for the 9th time! A month later than usual to ensure it’s as Covid-safe as possible, masks and the double-vaccinated are welcome to visit the 27 artists, displaying a fabulous variety of artworks across 22 sites.

Greenwich artists will open their studio doors to the public. A few years ago the Sydney Morning Herald reported that Greenwich was part of a creative cluster (and we don’t think they are wrong).

You will meet the artists! You will see the inner workings of an artist’s studio.

Many of the artists on the Greenwich Village Arts Trail have won multiple awards and have been hung and shown in prestigious art events.

An amazing community event and a rare opportunity to meet and chat with local artists in their work environment, learn about art and purchase directly from them.
From well-established professionals who have been hung in galleries and won many prizes, to highly skilled hobbyists working for decades alongside their successful business careers, to talented newcomers presenting their art for the very first time. On display, and for sale, will be oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings, pastel and ink drawings, children’s book illustrations, bronze, ceramic and wooden sculptures, pottery, handmade jewellery, textiles and fine art photographs.
The Arts Trail is a fantastic day out for families, with cafes and picnic spots available all around the harbourside suburb as you follow the suggested walk on the map. Or make your own path from studio to studio – they are easy to spot by the orange flags out the front. There is plenty of street parking if you’re in the car – or catch the ferry, train or bus.
Visitors are requested to follow social distancing measures on the Trail, both inside and outside. Sanitiser will be available, and masks and double vaccinations are welcome.

There will be oil, acrylic and watercolour paintings, sculptures, jewellery, pottery, photography on display and for sale on the Greenwich Village Arts Trail.

Below is just a sample of the work that you will see.

Amanda Harrison is the initiator of the Greenwich Village Arts Trail. Amanda has always been immersed in the creative arts, whether painting, sculpture, photography, film-making or writing. She first studied sculpture in her final years of high school in Sydney before completing a bachelor of arts in film and scriptwriting at university. After travelling for many years, she settled in London. She reinvigorated her passion for sculpture at the Kensington & Chelsea College, where she learnt traditional sculpting techniques, including armature building, mould-making, casting and carving.

Back in Sydney, and after studying graphic design and running a small graphic design business, Amanda then started to explore ceramics, learning about hand-building and glazes at TAFE, art colleges and private workshops. She was thrilled to successfully combine her love of sculpture and clay and now creates wonderful contemporary artworks in clay and bronze from her art studio in Greenwich Sydney.
