There is something nice about a fresh Christmas Tree. The smell of pine wafting through your house. Here is where you can buy your fresh Christmas Trees and help out local community groups.
Tambourine Bay Sea Scouts
The Tambourine Bay Sea Scouts source their fresh Christmas Trees direct from the Southern Highlands. This year they will be on sale on 4th December at St Michaels Church Car Park NOT the school as the school will be a polling station for the Lane Cove Council Local Elections (find out more details about the elections here).
They will be outside St Michaels School on 11th December 2021.
With over 100 kids, it takes a lot of money to buy equipment, participate in activities and maintain boats, equipment and halls!
Every year Tambourine Bay Sea Scouts pride themselves on getting the best trees available, from The Christmas Tree Man, established in 1980 by Robert and Barbara Boag, at “Paddy’s River”, Wingello, in the NSW Southern Highlands. Our trees are called Pinus Radiata, Christmas Tree variety.
But did you know?
In recent years, Wingello has suffered from a severe drought. Then, in summer 2019-20, Wingello was in the eye of the bushfire storm. Luckily, Robert and Barbara’s house was saved, but a lot of their plantation was lost, as were the houses and shops of a lot of their community.
And then we all got hit by COVID-19, as well.
Your support of our Christmas Tree fundraising directly supports the Boag family, and indirectly the local Wingello community.
They thank you, and we thank you too for your support!
This year you can order online by and get your trees delivered to your front yard on 4th and 11th December 2021. Order soon as there are only a limited number of delivery spots. Order here
Pop along and pick a gorgeous Christmas tree for your home on Saturday 4h December and the trees will be displayed for your selection from around 7 am at the St Michaels Church Parish Car Park Dorritt St Lane Cove.
On 11th December 2021, they will be back in front of St Michaels School Longueville Road Lane Cove.
You can also buy a Christmas Tree Stand and they accept credit cards. They will last until Christmas Day if you keep plenty of water in the Christmas Tree Stand. Check the water regularly as the trees tend to be thirsty when you get them home.
1st Lane Cove Scouts will be at Bunnings Artarmon in December 2021 selling their trees (dates to be confirmed).
1st Lane Cove Scouts thank you for supporting their fund-raising through the purchase of a Premium Christmas tree this Christmas
If you prefer delivery of your Christmas Tree the cost is an additional $20. Delivery is only available within a 5-kilometre radius of a line drawn between Lane Cove Post Office and Bunnings Artarmon.
If you are beyond this radius, delivery will likely not be available to your location. Note: There are no deliveries across the Harbour Bridge.
If you are in areas not close to Lane Cove, we strongly suggest that you contact your local Scout group as many provide Christmas Trees to their local community as a fund-raising activity. Scout trees are commercial trees sold at a lower cost than other outlets and so represent good value.
You can purchase your tree and tree stand online here.
Please contact at [email protected] with any special requests eg. bulk.
Mr ITC loves picking his own Christmas Tree. Like Rob the Dentist his face is not shown to protect this identity.

Tambourine Bay Santa Claus
ITC followers all have their favourite place to buy a Christmas Tree in Lane Cove. A long standing tradition is buying one from 6 Tambourine Bay Road, Lane Cove. The Tambourine Bay Santa Claus usually starts selling in the first week of December. Look for the signs on Tambourine Bay Road.
How did this tradition start? Years ago they were sold in the fruit and veggie shop on Longueville Road. When the business owner retired, the people who wholesale the trees kept delivering them to the store forgetting that the store was now closed. The trees were so popular it was decided to keep the tradition going from Tambourine Bay Road. He is now known as the Tambourine Bay Santa Claus.
