Lane Cove Easter Trading Hours 2023

Are you staying in Lane Cove for Easter?  If so, we have the lowdown on what will be open this Easter.

We also specifically checked which Fish Shops are open on Good Friday.

We have done the best we can at compiling this information; hours could be subject to change, so we suggest you double-check the details. This guide is just to give you an indication.  We have not put the specific hours as the feedback we have had from many businesses is that they want to be flexible with hours and if necessary close a bit earlier.  This is particularly true for cafes.  Just bear in mind that some cafes will be open a bit later than usual and close a bit earlier.

Double Demerit Points

Double Demerit Points apply from Thursday, 6 April to Monday, 10 April 2023.

The next double demerit period will be for the ANZAC Day public holiday. ANZAC Day falls on Tuesday, 25 April 2023, and double demerits will be in place over the weekend leading up to ANZAC Day from Friday, 21 April, to Tuesday, 25 April 2023.

Be careful on Monday, 24 April 2023, as school zones will operate during a double demerit period.

Retail Shops

Most retail shops in Lane Cove close Good Friday and Easter Sunday.  They are all open on Easter Saturday.  Some retailers will be open on Easter Monday but there could be limited hours.

Convenience Stores, Booze and Yikes I have Locked Myself Out

Jack & Co is open at both the Northwood and Burns Bay Road stores.

You can buy, coffee, ice, snack food and all those essential ingredients you forgot to get for that secret Easter dish.

A reminder that Jack & Co Northwood is currently undertaking upgrades of their Petrol Bowsers at Northwood – so you can’t buy Petrol, but the convenience store and barista coffee are still open.

Centro Lane Cove West is open throughout the Easter break – it is worth checking them out as they have an extensive range of fresh food, meat and grocery items, and if you are looking for a present for a homesick US, Brazillian, Asian friend they have a big range of foods from overseas to try.  Find out more about Centro here.

If you need Booze over the Easter Break Porters, Northwood is closed only on Good Friday.

Dan Murphy’s Cellars is closed on Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

If you lock yourself out of your house or you need a replacement lock urgently – Alert Locksmiths and Security operate their emergency service 24 Hours a Day/7 Days a Week.

Doctor and Vet

If you need a Doctor on public holidays, Wise Medical Clinic in Macquarie Park is a private billing emergency clinic, and they are open 10 am-10 pm 7 days a week.

For your Furry family members needing a vet, North Shore Veterinary Hospital in Artarmon is open 24/7 for emergencies only.

Cleaning UP and DIY

Many people clean up and undertake DIY; the Community Recycling Centre located at 8 Waltham Street in Artarmon is a one-stop-shop for safely disposing of problem household wastes such as paint, gas bottles, e-waste or motor oil and more.  In other words, problem wastes that can’t be collected via council kerbside waste or recycling collection services all year round.  They are closed on Good Friday, and Easter Monday.  They are open on Easter Saturday and Sunday.

Please be careful when you undertake DIY – Easter is a big DIY time, and also, the local hospitals have a spike with the increase in DIY related injuries.

Easter Clean Up, Library and Post Office

If possible, the Library staff have requested that please do not return books on public holidays (the books stack up as the staff are not there to process the returns as they come in). Library items are not due during the Easter period.
