What’s Open in Lane Cove on Labour Day Monday 2 October 2023

The 2023 NSW Labour Day public holiday is on 3 October 2023.

Double Demerit Points

It’s a long weekend and also the school holidays. If you are away, please drive carefully this weekend, the roads might be wet, and there will be heaps of traffic – we want to see you back in Lane Cove and sipping coffee with ITC!!!

Police will be deployed throughout the state for the duration of the annual road safety enforcement operation, which commenced at 12.01 am on Friday, 29 September 2023 and concludes at 11.59 pm on Monday, 2 October 2023.

Petrol, Convenience Stores, Booze and Yikes I have Locked Myself Out

If you need Petrol and Convenience Store items, Jack & Co is open at Burns Bay Road for petrol and convenience food. You can buy petrol, coffee, ice, snack food and all those ingredients for  baking.  Petrol is stil not available at Northwood.

Centro is also open.

If you need Booze, Dan Murphy’s The Cellar is open from 10 am to 7 pm.

If you lock yourself out of your house or you need a replacement lock urgently – Alert Locksmiths and Security operate their emergency service 24 Hours a Day/7 Days a Week.

Supermarket and Grocery Items

All Supermarkets and Harris Farm Markets will be Open.  Centro is also Open and they are open until 11.00 pm, and you can also order via their website for home delivery. Centro is located on Waterview Drive (just opposite Hughes Park).

As the holiday falls on a Monday, a day when most Lane Cove Restaurants are usually closed, there will be very few restaurants open in Lane Cove.  We have established that the following will be open:

Garcon will be open from 8 am to 3 pm
The Alcott and Longueville Hotel are open.
Lusso Kitchen at The Diddy (aka Longueville Sporting Club)

Cleaning UP and DIY

Many people clean up and undertake DIY, the Community Recycling Centre located at 8 Waltham Street in Artarmon is a one-stop shop for safely disposing of problem household wastes such as paint, gas bottles, e-waste or motor oil and more.  In other words, problem wastes that can’t be collected via council kerbside waste or recycling collection services all year round.  They are closed.
