DJ Personal Training Comes to Lane Cove – Meet Desiree Founder, Owner and Passionate Personal Trainer

Meet Desiree, a degree-qualified Personal Trainer, founder and owner of DJ Personal Training.  DJ Personal Training is an established business that has recently relocated from Neutral Bay to a larger personal training studio in Lane Cove.   It is located at 100A Longueville Road next door to North Shore Radiology (you can park in the Little Street Car Park for easy access to the studio).

Desiree chose Lane Cove for her new studio location because she has always loved the area and it’s strong sense of community. She was keen to let Lane Cove locals know all about her business, and we thank her for being an ITC Business Supporter.

Desiree told ITC why DJ Personal Training is your one-stop personal training studio for locals passionate about improving their health and wellness, particularly Lane Cove locals who are time-poor.

The DJ Personal Training Approach

Desiree has over 20 years’ experience helping many people achieve their health and fitness goals through customised, individual exercise and nutrition programs. These programs include weight loss and weight management, better managing chronic illness, improving nutrition, and improving fitness, muscle mass, strength, balance, and bone density.

Desiree believes her approach is very different from that of other personal training businesses. She focuses on the whole person and strongly emphasises injury prevention and proper technique. Her programs are not one-size-fits-all; she is able to customise a program to suit the client’s needs and abilities so that their fitness goals are achievable and sustainable.

Clients Range from Teens to Seniors

Desiree told ITC:

“Having an experienced Personal Trainer to help guide your teenager in proper form and technique with a focus on injury prevention and progressive overload can prevent your teenager from obtaining an injury. Also if they want to go to a commercial gym on their own when they are older – at least they will know what they are doing, and their risk of injury is greatly lowered.

It’s never too early to think about maintaining fitness in your senior years and exercising to prevent chronic pain and illness (for example, osteoporosis).”

According to a recent article in The Conversation:

“We all recognise the benefits of regular aerobic or cardiovascular exercise to support our heart and lung health. Being active is also good for our social and mental health. And strength training promotes strong bones and muscles.

But as we age, we also need to train our balance to avoid falls.

Around one in three people aged 65 and over have a fall each year.

Falls are a common cause of disability and loss of independence in older age and can lead to an older person moving from living independently into living in a residential aged care facility. More than 6,000 older Australians die each year from falls.

But many falls are preventable. So exercise that targets balance and strength is crucial.”
