In 2025, the Lane Cove Festival transformed Lane Cove into something pretty special.

For weeks, the area came alive with music, art, theatre, installations, workshops and unexpected moments of joy popping up everywhere. It was an amazing way to bring colour, creativity and energy into Lane Cove.

The Sydney Fringe Festival is a multi-genre arts and performance festival held across Sydney each September. For the second year in a row, the festival partnered with Lane Cove Festival to utilise Lane Cove’s state-of-the-art performance spaces, including Pottery Lane Performance Space, The Canopy stage, Gallery Lane Cove and Carisbrook Historic House.

If you were at last year’s festival launch, you’ll know exactly why it was so popular. Families packed The Canopy, roaming performers filled the night with energy and dazzling acts took over the stage creating pure magic. Who could forget the giant glowing balloon floating above the crowd? Read more about the 2025 festival here.

Through its partnership with the Sydney Fringe Festival, the festival has also become a platform for incredible local and independent artists, shining a spotlight on creativity right here in Lane Cove.

Now, local artists and designers have the chance to help shape the “Made in Lane Cove” identity for the 2026 festival, with Lane Cove Council calling for expressions of interest to create the festival’s official artwork and visual branding.

The 2026 festival theme is “Made in Lane Cove” — a celebration of local creativity, connection and place. The selected artist’s work will appear across festival programs, signage, digital promotions and campaign material throughout the festival season.

The selected design will become part of the festival’s visual identity and will feature across promotional material, signage, marketing campaigns and community communications throughout the festival period.

It is a fantastic opportunity for an emerging or established creative to have their work seen by thousands of locals and visitors while helping capture the colour, creativity and community spirit that make the Lane Cove Festival one of the highlights of the local calendar.

So if you have ever wandered through the festival and thought, “I’d love to be part of this”, this could be your chance.

Expressions of interest close on 18 May 2026, so interested artists and designers are encouraged to apply soon. Full brief here
