Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios is one of those Lane Cove spaces we are genuinely lucky to have.
If you have never been to one of their exhibitions, put it on your list. It is so much more than a gallery on Longueville Road. It is a place where local artists, emerging artists, students, children, makers, potters, painters, textile artists and curious locals all seem to cross paths.
Over the years, In the Cove has written about many of the gallery’s exhibitions, workshops and creative programs from exhibitions to student shows, pottery classes, school holiday programs and local artist showcases. The common thread is always the same: there is real passion behind what happens there.
The gallery also has a wonderful way of reaching beyond its own walls. If you have seen Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios at Lane Cove Public School, at local events, or running hands-on activities for children, you will know how much they do to encourage creativity in our community.
June is another busy month, with the final days of three current exhibitions, the launch of a new Winter Salon, an EOFY appeal to support the gallery’s work and creative classes for both adults and children.
Last Chance To See Three Current Exhibitions
Three exhibitions that opened in May will continue into the first week of June, closing on Saturday 6 June 2026.
If you missed the May opening night, this is your chance to catch them before they finish. You can read more about the May exhibition program in our earlier article: A Big May at Gallery Lane Cove: Four Exhibitions and a Mother’s Day Workshop.
Life and Beyond — Bruno Valente
Bruno Valente’s paintings move between the natural world and more dream-like, symbolic spaces. His work draws on landscapes, beaches and nature, while also exploring ideas of energy, symbolism and the unknown.
Light Moves — Szilvia György, Chris Packer and Liz Shreeve
Light Moves brings together three artists with a shared fascination for light. Using simple materials, the artists explore shadow, reflected colour and light transmission, inviting visitors to look more closely at something we often take for granted.
Water’s Awakening — Clara Chiu
Clara Chiu’s photographic exhibition captures water, ripples, reflections and light, transforming fleeting moments into immersive abstract compositions. Printed on archival rag paper, the works sit somewhere between photography and painting.
The Inaugural Winter Salon
From 11 to 27 June 2026, Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios will present its first ever Winter Salon.
The exhibition has been created to bring together artists working across a wide range of media and at different stages of their careers. Think painting, sculpture, photography, textiles, printmaking and more – all under one roof.
The idea behind the Winter Salon is simple: great art deserves a wall to live on. Not every artist is looking for a full solo or group exhibition, but many have work that deserves to be seen. The Winter Salon gives those artists a place in the program and gives visitors the chance to discover new names alongside familiar ones.
The opening event will be held on Friday 12 June 2026. Gallery openings are one of Lane Cove’s underrated nights out — you can meet the artists, see the works first and enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by art and conversation.
Adult Classes – Drop In or Join Casually
Even though Term 2 is already underway, there are still opportunities to join adult classes at Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios.
Casual drop-in sessions and pro-rata enrolments are available across the adult program, subject to availability. It is a good option if you have been wanting to try something creative without committing to a full term.
The adult program includes pottery, wheel throwing, hand building, painting, drawing and gentle yoga classes, all run in the gallery’s fully equipped studios.

Winter School Holiday Workshops
Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios is now taking bookings for its Winter Children’s Holiday Workshops, running from Monday 6 July to Friday 17 July 2026.
The school holiday program includes pottery, textiles, drawing and painting, with children guided by qualified educators and working artists.
Families can book three-hour workshops or all-day sessions, with the option to mix and match across the two weeks. Before and after-workshop care is available, along with complimentary lunchtime supervision for children booked into both a morning and afternoon class on the same day.
These workshops are always popular, so early booking is recommended.

Support the Gallery’s EOFY Appeal
As the end of the financial year approaches, Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios is asking the community to consider making a tax-deductible donation to support its work.
The gallery is a not-for-profit arts centre and donations help support local artists, students, exhibitions, classes and the creative spaces that make all of this possible.
Donations can help keep children’s art classes affordable, maintain pottery wheels and studio equipment, fund materials for school holiday classes, replace gallery lighting, support year-round programs and help keep exhibitions free and accessible.
Make a donation: Support Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios here.
There are also other ways to support the gallery, including volunteering, sharing their newsletter and social media posts, attending opening nights, bringing a friend along to an exhibition or leaving a Google review.
Artists Can Also Submit Exhibition Proposals
Gallery Lane Cove + Creative Studios also accepts exhibition proposals from artists, collectives and curators through its Open Access program.
If you are an artist with an exhibition idea, this is worth exploring. The gallery offers a professional, supportive and well-regarded local exhibition space, with several gallery configurations available depending on the proposal.
