This month-long festival features community and Lane Cove Council-run initiatives including live music, film screenings, talks, walks and workshops.
There are exciting and diverse events that will keep you out of the house and celebrating community life. This year, there is something for everyone.
The festival includes your favourite events (such as The Lane Cove Fun Run and the Big Family Fun Ride). The events are broadly categorised as follows:

Lane Cove Festival Launch Event
It all starts with the Lane Cove Festival Launch Party in the Lane Cove Plaza on Friday, 25 August, from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm in Lane Cove Plaza.
There will be an afternoon of fun and excitement in Lane Cove Plaza. This family-friendly event welcomes the community to the heart of Lane Cove with children’s activities including a craft workshop and musical performances.

Cameraygal Week 1 – 8th September
Cameraygal Week takes place in the first week of September every year to celebrate the traditional owners of the land which is now known as Lane Cove.
First Fridays: Bush Tucker
To celebrate Cameraygal Week, join Jess from Koori Kinnections to learn about bush foods and how they are sourced and prepared. As a special gift, those who attend will be able to try some of this fantastic locally sourced bush tucker. Gluten-free options will be available.

In a period of concerning climate change, ‘forage: symbiotic (trans)formations’ explores, interprets, transforms and preserves nature’s ephemera and our relationships to it; inviting visitors to pursue deepened connections with their surroundings, environmental awareness and the veneration of our human-enviro symbiosis.
‘forage: symbiotic (trans)formations’ brings together eight east coast, metro and regional female Artists for whom foraging natural materials is at the core of their artistic practices. The Artists introduce fresh and original methods to conventional artistic mediums such as printmaking, painting, weaving, fibre art, textiles, film, digital AI, ceramics, and sculptural installation. They achieve this by integrating natural debris, saps, pigments, and the surrounding atmosphere.

Spring is the perfect time for you to get out and about and explore some of Lane Cove’s beautiful bushwalks:
Manns Point Lookout to Greenwich Baths, Greenwich
500m, 10mins. Grade: Moderately easy
Access to walk: From Prospect Street, Greenwich or Greenwich Sailing Club car park.
Shell Park to Greenwich Point, Greenwich
800m, 20mins. Grade: Easy
Access to walk: From Greenwich Road (northern end) or Greenwich Point Ferry Wharf, Lower Serpentine Rd (southern end).
Tambourine Bay Reserve to Warraroon Reserve, Riverview
1.5km, 40mins. Grade: Moderately easy
Access to walk: Main access is from Tambourine Bay Park, end of Tambourine Bay Road, Riverview.

Join us for an evening of experimenting, learning, making and using a range of technology, equipment and tools. Bring your own idea to life or try out one of our self-paced project kits for beginners. Materials are included for projects completed on the night. 3D Printing service is available for unfinished projects, normal fees apply.
You will be offered a 90-mInute timeslot either 5:30pm – 7:00pm, or 7:00pm – 8:30pm.

The Big Family Fun Ride

Join Lane Cove Counicl for bike riding, family activities, competitions and workshops
Lane Cove Council’s Bicycle Advisory Committee presents Lane Cove’s Big Family Fun Ride.
Spring is in the air and with it is the time to enjoy cycling with the whole family at the Big Family Fun Ride! Both routes will be on shared user paths, off-road where possible and away from busy streets.
There will also be multiple skills level courses to choose from.
After you finish your chosen route, all riders will have the opportunity to participate in a cycle skills course and helmet decoration competition organised and run by Pedal-Set-Go.
A children’s cycle skills course, a riding obstacle course, helmet decoration competition, a ‘selfie photo’ frame opportunity and bike maintenance workshop will run continuously while the Longueville Road Loop ride is taking place.
Please note this event will go ahead in rain or shine.
About the routes
There will be two routes for the Big Family Fun Ride. The two rides are open to all ages with the criteria for selecting your ride being experience and confidence. Riders and parents need to carefully consider riding ability in order to select the most suitable ride. Where possible the rides will highlight Shared User Paths (SUPs) in Lane Cove. All bike riders are requested to be courteous to pedestrians and use their bells to warn them of your approach. It is not a race and all participants must follow the leading cyclist and not attempt to ride ahead of the pack.

Longueville Road Loop Route (1.4km)
Starts 10:30am
As part of the Car Free Sunday celebration, the Longueville Road Loop Route is designed for families and younger riders and scooter users. Enjoy the flat, circular course and experience the thrill of riding down one of the major roads through Lane Cove without having to worry about cars.
Starts 10:00am
The Intermediate Route is approx. 4.3km, an easy downhill and flat gradient for intermediate cyclists who can ride with or without gears. This ride is initially on the Epping Road Cycleway, with a few climbs to Lane Cove North SUP. Then a flat section through St Leonards South and Pacific Highway and back to Cameraygal Park.
Starts 10:00am
The Advanced Route is approx. 6.2km and for more confident cyclists. It is not for beginners and recommended that bikes have gears as there will be several hills. Parents must accompany pre-teenage children. This ride is predominantly on SUPs and footpaths.
