ITC loves Australia Day! We get a day off to spend with family and friends, relaxing, eating, drinking and making merry. Whether you have lived in Australia all your life, or moved to the Lucky Country more recently, Australia Day is your day to celebrate being a part of this wonderful land.
Australia Day Celebrations at Lane Cove Plaza
Lane Cove Council are holding a special Australian Citizenship ceremony in the Plaza on Australia Day, with various VIP’s in attendance. The ceremony welcomes spectators, and the council invite everyone to “Come and celebrate everything that is great about being Australian!”
There will be live entertainment and a BBQ too. All welcome. From 10am – 1pm.
Local resident and Australia Day Ambassador Jude Bolton will be providing the key note address as part of the Citizenship Ceremony proceedings.
10:00am – 11:00am: Citizenship Ceremony
11:00am – 1:00pm: Live music and BBQ
Having a BBQ at Home – Head to Hummerston’s
For those kicking back with a cold one, and Triple J’s Hottest 100 on the radio, you might well be thinking BBQ, or even more specifically, Sausage Sizzle. Did you know that it is UN-Australian not to have a sausage on Australia Day?!
Well the crazy gang at Hummerston’s Gourmet Meats have just the banger for Australia Day – it is their famous Lamb, Cheese & Vegemite snags, pictured below.
Need something sweet to have after your snags? The Cake Man is taking orders for these fab Map of Australia Lamingtons!
If you need to stock up on drinks in advance of the day, Cellarbrations at Lane Cove (under Coles) have a large range of beer, wine and spirits. And down the road in Northwood, Porter’s Liquor also stock a good range of grog, and they will also deliver your order, along with ice and glasses too if required!
Australia Day at The Diddy
A new operator has taken over the Bistro at The Diddy, as of January 2017. The Lawns is having their (soft) opening/launch on Australia Day!
