Heart of the Nation, a Heart Foundation program delivered in partnership with Lane Cove Council, is running free CPR and AED awareness sessions across Lane Cove this winter and spring. The first is at the Civic Centre’s Cove Room on Wednesday 22 July, from 10:30am to midday.
No medical background is needed. Volunteer trainers cover the simple steps of calling for help, starting CPR and using a defibrillator, including hands-on practice with a training AED and how to tell a heart attack from cardiac arrest.
Two further sessions follow at Lane Cove Library on Wednesday 26 August, 6pm to 7:30pm, and St Leonards Library on Friday 18 September, 1pm to 2:30pm. All sessions are free, with registration through Council’s Humanitix page.
