New Medicare health check now available for three-year-olds

State & Federal News news brief

A new Medicare health check for three-year-olds has been available since 1 November.

The Healthy Kids check lets doctors assess a child’s physical, social and emotional development before they start school, and pick up any health or developmental concerns early.

Every Medicare-eligible three-year-old can have one check. Book it through your GP.

If needed, the check can lead to a referral to the federal Thriving Kids program or other support.
