We are seeking a reliable and experienced Nanny / Mother's Helper for casual, ad hoc work throughout August, September and October, with the potential for ongoing work beyond this period.
The role is based in Lane Cove and is expected to involve approximately 1–2 days per week, although days and hours can vary depending on the successful applicant's availability and our family's needs. Minimum hours are anticipated to be 8 hours per week, or can be negotiated.
Primary responsibilities may include:
- Caring for two boys (preschool and primary school age)
- School pick-up and drop-off (walking distance)
- Accompanying children to extracurricular activities (walking distance)
- Preparing simple meals and snacks
- Tidying and cleaning up after children's activities and meals
- Engaging the children: both boys are bright, energetic and curious, and enjoy STEM, reading, games, outdoor play and creative activities.
Additional duties may include, by mutual agreement:
- General household tidying
- Making beds
- Folding and putting away laundry
Essential requirements:
- Current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current First Aid and CPR/BLS certification
- Previous childcare, nannying or babysitting experience
- Reliable, responsible and enjoy engaging with children
Desirable but not essential requirements:
- Experience with newborns, as occasional care of an infant (<6 months old) may be required for short periods (<few hours).
- Flexibility - availability may be required on weekdays, evenings and weekends, by mutual agreement.
- A driver's licence and access to a vehicle. Car seats can be provided if required.
Rate: $35–40 per hour, depending on experience, qualifications and responsibilities.
