Help local gardens flourish — volunteer with us!
Enjoy being outdoors and making a difference? Join our gardening volunteer team!
Volunteers are at the heart of Sydney Community Services’ Garden Service. No gardening experience is needed — just a willingness to help, a reasonably active lifestyle and a positive, team-focused attitude.
Our Garden Service helps older residents live independently by keeping their outdoor spaces safe, tidy and easy to maintain. As a volunteer, you’ll help make a meaningful difference in your local community.
How you can help:
- Weeding and mulching garden beds
- Pruning trees and shrubs
- Tidying gardens and clearing paths to improve safety and accessibility
- Volunteer arrangements
Hours: Morning shifts, Tuesday to Friday, 8:30 am – 12:00 pm
Locations: Gardens across the Lower North Shore and Ryde LGAs
Flexible commitment: Volunteer weekly, fortnightly or monthly, depending on your availability
Support: Work alongside experienced horticulturists and staff
Whether you can join us every week or once a month, we’d love to hear from you.
