Powerful Owl 2026 Season Update (Zoom)

Lane Cove’s bushland is home to the Powerful Owl, Australia’s largest owl and a threatened species. Find out how they fared this year at a free online session with BirdLife Australia on Wednesday 9 December from 7:00pm to 8:00pm.

BirdLife Australia will share results from the 2026 breeding season across the Sydney Basin, including how many chicks fledged. They will also cover the conservation work under way to protect the owls and their habitat, and how locals can help.

The session is hosted by Lane Cove Council and runs on Zoom. It is free but bookings are essential.
