It has been a huge week for Lane Cove. This week we saw the State Government announce that Lane Cove Council will be forced to amalgamate with Hunters Hill and Ryde (more about that later).

Little Street Car Park is Now Open
The car park behind the Longueville Hotel and across the road from the Lane Cove Aquatic Centre is now open. It has three hours free parking.
Japanese Mori Mart Opens
A Japanese Grocery Store has opened under Coles near Lime Leaf Fruit Market.
Fotis Has Now Been Rebranded as Poseidon’s Catch
Fotis in Lane Cove West is now a Fish and Chips shop where you can eat in or take away.

Crime Report
A nasty accident occurred on Murray Street on Friday Night. A drunk driver hit 4 cars on Murray Street. Allegedly they were doing 100 km/hr and blew .227. Speaking of police, Operation Arrive Alive, a six-week state-wide high-visibility Traffic and Highway Patrol operation, will kick off on Friday 12.01am (18 December 2015), and will focus on reducing road trauma. The operation will run until Tuesday (26 January 2016). As part of Operation Arrive Alive, double demerit points will apply for speeding, mobile phone use, seatbelt and helmet use. Double demerits will apply from 24 December 2015 to January 3 2016 and from 22 January 2016 to to 26 January 2016 inclusive.
Lane Cove Council to Merge with Ryde and Hunters Hill Council
The State Government has declared that Lane Cove will merge with Ryde and Hunters Hill Council. Here is the map of how it will look. It looks like Ryde will have the most number of councillors.
