The Cameraygal Festival has officially kicked off.  The Festival runs from August to October 2016.  The Festival is jam packed with events.  Here are 10 events not to be missed.

The Enchanted Night Garden

Colourful lights, sculpture and atmospherics, combined with Don Murchison’s nature inspired leadlight
windows, will be all lit up for the occasion. Streams, ponds and waterfalls surround the Jungle Chalet, which becomes 90% surrounded by water. This is all part of Don Murchison’s Watergarden Artscape, which is set in a rainforest enclave beside the Lane Cove Bushland Park. Don has personally placed every piece of sandstone and every pebble to replicate nature in a miniature wonderland.

Celebrate Your Own Edible Garden

Want to start your own edible garden but think you don’t have the space or the time? Small garden specialist  and author of the bestselling books ‘The Edible Balcony’ and ‘The Edible City’, Indira Naidoo, is coming to Lane Cove to show you how to start your own veggie patch. No space is too small; no gardener too inexperienced.
Indira’s garden talk and workshop will be crammed with planting advice and pest control tips. She’ll also share some of her delicious recipes.

Lane Cove Fun Run

The Lane Cove Fun Run will be held on Father’s Day this year.  Fun for the whole family. What a great way to celebrate Father’s Day.  The event is being organised by Lane Cove Public School P&C. It is hoped that this event will become an annual event.  You can choose to enter either the 2km LONGueville Dash (8:30am) or the 5km event (7:30am). The organisers are encouraging all participants to enter into the FUN of the event, dress up, get your kids to dress up and dress up those strollers!  The run will take you through scenic Longueville and the roads will be closed.

Bollywood Dancing Performance and Workshop

Join Monsuun Bollywood dancers for a colourful and vibrant performance, complete with live
drummers. Simply enjoy the show, or make the most of the opportunity by booking in to learn some catchy Bollywood moves and joining the performers in a workshop. The dancing workshop is suitable for anyone 8 years or older and will run from 12:45pm – 1:30pm.

Charity Pro Am Lane Cove Golf Club

Join the Lane Cove Golf Club for the annual Charity Pro Am Golf Tournament, open to amateurs, where Lane Cove locals are encouraged to mix with international professional golfers.

Lane Cove Village Fair

The Lane Cove Village Fair 2016 is on 9th October 206.  It will be a day full of fun, music, stalls, rides, food and activities for all the family. Come and enjoy the Fair and help raise funds for the Rotary Club of Lane Cove projects both locally and abroad.    More details will be released soon but read about all of last year’s activities here.
