Are you ready to enjoy Lane Cove’s newest festival? Festival by the River is on again this year, after the success of last year’s inaugural event. Festival by the River goes for two weeks from 1st November to 13th November 2016. The aim of the festival is to showcase activities on the Lane Cove and Paramatta Rivers.
Festival Highlights
Aboriginal Astronomy
Hear Indigenous sky stories inspired by water as told by Aboriginal Astronomy guide Willy from Sydney Observatory.

Greenwich Village Arts Trail
23 Greenwich artists will open their studio doors to visitors – paintings, sculptures, jewellery, pottery, photographs, linen, silk and paper prints.

Food & Wine by the River
Soak up the sunshine with friends and family while enjoying some of the Orange region’s finest cool-climate wine, food and fresh produce with 15+stalls. Enjoy live entertainment, face painting and farm animal displays throughout the day. You can read our blog here.

Paint Our River
Capture the vista of the river as you dabble in creating your own masterpiece under the guidance of local mixed-media artist Pamela Fairburn.

Greenwich Sailing Club: Try Sailing and Sausage Sizzle
Greenwich Sailing Club is having a ‘try sailing’ morning for all young sailors, experienced or novice. The sausage sizzle is from 12:00pm

Free Talk: The Lane Cove River, A Journey into the Past
The Lane Cove River has been one of the main tributaries for Sydney Harbour for thousands of years, providing a means of transport for industry and a source of recreation, food and inspiration for artists and poets.

Discovery Boat Trip on Lane Cove River
Join local experts and discover the European, Aboriginal and natural heritage of the Lane Cove River and estuary. Includes light refreshments.

Sunset Drinks on the Pontoon
Join North Shore Rowing Club to watch the sun go down over the Lane Cove River. Take the opportunity to take a look around the 80-year-old rowing shed and have a paddle on the bay if you so wish.

Fishing for Fun
Learn how fun fishing can be with this drop-in fishing expo on the banks of the Lane Cove River. The team from Young Guns Fishing will help teach you how to cast, bait your hook and fish responsibly with a series of fun activities.
