Heard Through the Grapevine
We are hearing several stories about what is going on in the old L’italiano site on Longueville Road. Something is happening as a black sheet has gone up which usually signals the start of construction.
There is also whispers about an upmarket Japanese restaurant opening above the Cake Man, and some progress seems to be happening in the venue. The space was most recently home to Indian Fusion Restaurant, and prior to that, Chopsticks.
Congratulations to Len Wallis. Len is an audio/visual pioneer and his store has been awarded many accolades. Len Wallis will be inducted as a fellow of the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA).
“These CEDIA members have had a profound impact on our association and we are incredibly thankful for their dedication, generosity of time and knowledge, and significant contributions to the association,” says CEDIA chairman Dennis Erskine.
Len has spent his working life in audio, starting as a salesperson for MS Sound in 1970 before opening Len Wallis Audio (LWA) in 1978. LWA was a founding member of CEDIA Australia in 1995 and in 2001 it was first company outside the US to receive the CEDIA ‘Dealer of the Year’ award.
“It’s a great privilege to be the first Australian inducted to the CEDIA Fellows program and I’m riding on the shoulders of some impressive predecessors,” says Len.
