Lane Cove North Man Arrested in Police Drug Operation

    Yesterday an ITC roving reporter spotted a man being escorted from premises in Helen Street Lane Cove North by two police officers.  Our roving reporter said he appeared to have blood on his face.

    Detectives have charged four men allegedly involved in a drug supply syndicate on the North Shore.

    In January 2020, Strike Force Tongaboo was established to investigate the supply of heroin in the North Shore.

    As a result of this taskforce,  at 6:50am on Wednesday 18 March 2020 officers from North Shore Police Area Command and South West Metropolitan Region executed search warrants at three units on Barton Road, Artarmon, and another on Helen Street, Lane Cove.

    About the same time, they arrested a 58-year-old man, who was walking along Hampton Road, Artarmon. He was taken to Chatswood Police Station, where he was charged with four counts of supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis and deal with property proceeds of crime. The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Hornsby Local Court on Thursday 19 March 2020.


    During the search of a unit on Barton Road, Artarmon, detectives arrested a 63-year-old man, before taking him to Chatswood Police Station, where he was charged with drug supply.

    He was granted conditional bail and is due to appear in Hornsby Local Court on Wednesday 8 April 2020.

    A 56-year-old man was also arrested, during the search on Helen Street, Lane Cove, and taken to Chatswood Police Station, where he was charged with supply prohibited drugs on an ongoing basis. He was refused bail and is due to appear at Hornsby Local Court on Thursday 19 March 2020.

    The total number of people charged under Strike Force Tongaboo now stands at four, after a 50-year-old man was found in possession of heroin in Burwood earlier this month.He was charged with supply prohibited drug and was refused bail, to appear in Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 1 April 2020.
