Food Trucks

The most popular local food trucks will be providing an array of food options, including pizza, healthy bowls, cinema snacks and desserts.

A range of local food trucks will also be featured. Marco will be returning with Gladesville’s favourite pizza truck. Leah from Drummoyne will be providing healthy bowls from her famous We Bowlin, and Hot Dogs of The World will also be making a visit. The best dessert in Sydney will also be available with Katherine’s local delight Waffld.

Fully Licensed

The team behind the Cinema come from a cocktail bar background, so you can expect a first-class bar offering. De Bortoli is the principal beverage partner, and their La Boheme range will be sure to delight. Their wines are considered a perfect evening picnic beverage- ethereal, aromatic, textural, sophisticated, and easy to pair with food. To be enjoyed with friends over a picnic and an outdoor movie.

Warwick Brook, managing director of De Bortoli, is incredibly excited about the Cinema. “La Boheme, the namesake of these wines, was one of our favourite operas of Dame Nellie Melba, the musical diva of the Yarra Valley,” she said. “We are delighted to partner with the locals behind the Hunters Hill Open Air Cinema who have a beautiful ethos and focus on delivering gorgeous evenings of entertainment.”

Little Creatures’ beers and Vanguard’s Luxury MOCO tapped cocktails will also provide patrons with an impeccable range of thirst quencher.

Reviews by ITC Readers

Ann, an ITC reader, went to the opening night of the season and told us this:

“Hunters Hill Open Air Cinema Great Night Out!! Tickets are reasonable  ($10.28 each). We parked at the end of Punt Road – opposite Banjo Patterson Restaurant – it was a two-minute walk to Bedlam Bay. The Ground is terraced, so no one blocks your view. We got pizza from the food trucks – well priced and delicious. You buy beer and wine etc., there. Gates open at 6 pm and the movie started around 8.30 pm. There is lots of room for the kids to run around and play before the movie. Would go again!!!!”

“Get down here Lane Cove. The Hunters Hill Outdoor Cinema is a fantastic set-up, with great staff, cold drinks and tasty pizza on offer. Get behind the initiative……..we are lucky to have this so close to home.”

“It’s fantastic. Salted caramel “nice cream” for the kids… sugar and dairy free (vegan) and they did not notice.”

“Headed there over the weekend and it was brilliant. The pizza team they had there had delicious pizza too. Loved it.”

“It’s a fantastic venue. Loads of space, delicious food and drink, great movies. Recommend a jumper as there is a lovely breeze as well, perfect after a hot day.”

“Tickets are so affordable at just over $10. Totally worth it for a fantastic local night out with a twist and some stars.”

“It was a great night out with the family – highly recommend”.

Background

The group behind the Hunters Hill Open Air Cinema are a young passionate team who have set the bar for events in Hunters Hill.

They have run a number of very popular Open Air Cinemas, highlighting the best of our local community. They have collaborated with young musicians from the area, hero’ed local producers and curated numerous events raising money for local charities and causes.

Angus McCaffrey, who helped come up with the concept, said, “Our team have grown up just a stone’s throw from Bedlam Bay, and we live for our local community.”

“We always thought that there was no reason we couldn’t have the best events in Sydney in our own backyard. That we shouldn’t have to hop on a bus or drive for 45 minutes to attend an event.” Angus said.

“This event was designed so that local kids could ride their bikes down and hang out together watching a movie for a fiver. Parents could come down and enjoy a few drinks before lounging back to a great film in a beautiful reserve.” Angus said.

“After a really tough couple of years, we hope to be part of a new wave of events that are focussed on bringing together local communities,” Angus said.
