Lane Cove’s first dedicated soft serve açaí spot is finally here, and it’s got a cool twist. The kids of Curry Lane (yes, that Curry Lane, which has been around 20+ years) are sharing the space and bringing fresh, fruity vibes to the neighbourhood.
@acaicove_lanecove! has soft serve açaí bowls, strawberry cups, and much more to come. Keep an eye out on their social media to see what is coming.

Pronto Pilates
Pronto Pilates has come to Lane Cove, located above McGrath Real Estate.

Sarnie and Panini Opens
Sarnie and Panini are now open for all your sandwich needs. Located on Birdwood Lane behind The Canopy eateries, next to MBE Lane Cove (at the Alcott end of the Canopy). Their sandwiches have been getting a big wrap (see what we did there) from members on Lane Cove Chat by ITC, and they are now open for breakfast.
S’Bread House – Banh mi
S’Bread House officially opened on Thursday, 6 March 2025. Its standard opening hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 11 am—7.30 pm, every week.
Follow them on Instagram as they post photos of their tasty ingredients and yummy rolls.
They are located at the back of Pho Sam and near the back of the Lane Cove Newsagency. You enter via the shared path on Rosenthal Lane (not far from the entrance to the Cake Man arcade from The Canopy).
Commission Coffee and Daifuku
A new cafe, Commission Coffee, opened on Wednesday, 26 March 2025, at 72 Helen St, Lane Cove North. The site is a short walk from Helen Street Reserve and is a very welcome addition for residents in that pocket of Lane Cove North. The building was most recently the home of a hairdresser and, at one point, a chemist.
Opening hours are Wednesday – Sunday from 8 am to 4 pm.
Although they only opened in March, Commission Coffee and Sydney Daifuku Store are already making a name for themselves. Daifuku Store was featured in this Sydney Morning Herald Good Food article detailing the delicious Japanese street food snacks on offer. They have also been featured on Broadstreet for their “pillowy soft Daifuku Mochi” – read more here.
Commission coffee and @sydney.daifuku.store are part of @sevenh.sydney — a creative co-retail space. They told ITC they have more exciting stores and services coming soon.

Modern Sounds Music is located at 102 – 104 Longueville Road Lane Cove.

Cockatoo Comics
Cockatoo Comics is a specialty store that stocks comics, graphic novels, manga and zines. They have comics that will appeal to kids, marvel and DC fans, and adults who love a bit of nostalgia (for those who read Archie Comics when growing up).
The store will be located on the second floor of the Lane Cove Village complex, at 43-45 Burns Bay Road, just opposite Harris Farm and above Brewmance.
The store features the best selection of new, second hand, all ages, 18+, local comics, graphic novels and manga. Regular events, like book clubs and comic making workshops, will be held in the store – and the kids’ comic making and colouring table is always ready for a visit!

DJ Personal Training
DJ Personal Training has arrived in Lane Cove.
Desiree, the founder and heart behind DJ Personal Training, has just moved her studio from Neutral Bay to Lane Cove. Her studio is located at 100A Longueville Road next door to North Shore Radiology (you can park in the Little Street Car Park for easy access to the studio).

Brewmance
@brewmance.official opened their Lane Cove doors on Monday, 24th February 2025.
They are located at The Village Shopping Centre. It is located where NiBu Cafe used to be, opposite Harris Farm.
The Lane Cove cafe is in addition to the successful Brewmance cafe in Crows Nest.
Their personalised coffees have been a big hit.
W.O.W Project
The W.O.W Project has just opened in The Village Shopping Centre and is a children’s workshop and activity space with a difference. It is run by an architect, and it is about running workshops that inspire creativity and making and designing objects. Further information to come soon.
Farewell Nick
In January 2025, Lane Cove said goodbye to one of Lane Cove’s coffee legends.
Nick from Nibu Cafe, located in the Village Shopping Centre hung up his apron. Before Nibu he owned Aristocrat (now Two Brothers).
Nick sold Nibu, and after 30 years of serving great coffee, he will be leaving Lane Cove as he has sold the business. His last day was Sunday, 19 January 2025, and Nibu was packed with well-wishers. Good luck, Nick, and happy retirement!!
Closed/Closing
Sayulita Lane Cove
Lane Cove’s only Mexican Restaurant is closing.
On Monday, 28 April 2025, @Sayulita.lanecove announced they will be closing.

Lamin8 Patisserie Closes
Saturday, 5 April 2025, was the last day of trade for Lamin8 Patisserie (located in the Lane Cove Village opposite McGrath Lane Cove). Mariam, on the left, and May, on the right, were there on the last day. It will be replaced by Max Acai.
Fully Flavoured Closed
In December 2024, Fully Flavoured Restaurant, located in The Village Shopping Centre, closed. This was the sign on their door. The restaurant is now available for lease.
Little Red Robin
On 21 December 2024, Little Red Robin, on Birdwood Lane, closed permanently. They have been operating for six years. We understand that a new modern Australian restaurant will be opening in this space soon.
Opening Soon
The fit-out for Sushi Naya is progressing. We don’t know an opening date yet, but it must be close. They are located where the ANZ Bank used to be, overlooking the plaza. This is a chain, and they are also located at Greenwood Plaza and Macquarie Shopping Centre.
Snap Fitness
Snap Fitness is coming to the old Commonwealth Bank site on Longueville Road. The gym will have quite a large footprint over two levels. They will be opening soon.

Development Application for Longueville Rd/Birdwood Lane Property
It looks like exciting things are on the horizon for Spotted Orchid. Council has received a development application (28/2025) for 87 Longueville Road, which includes facade upgrades to the existing retail frontage, as well as construction of a new two-storey retail space fronting Birdwood Lane.
While the application is being processed now, Rita from Spotted Orchid says the construction phase is a little off yet.
