1st Tambourine Bay Sea Scouts are selling fresh Christmas trees again this year. It’s one of Lane Cove’s favourite Christmas traditions and one of the group’s biggest fundraisers.
More info is coming soon, including this year’s dates and prices. We’ll update this page as soon as we have them.
Where the trees come from
The trees come straight from the Southern Highlands. Tambo Scouts source them from The Christmas Tree Man at Paddy’s River in Wingello, a farm started by Robert and Barbara Boag in 1980. They’re Pinus radiata, the classic Christmas pine that fills the house with that fresh pine smell.
How it usually works
There are two ways to get your tree.
Pre-order and get it delivered. Order online and the Scouts deliver your tree on one of two Saturdays in late November or early December. Online numbers are limited so don’t leave it late.

Pick your own. On the same two Saturdays the Scouts set up outside St Michael’s Primary School on Longueville Road from 7am. Get there early. The best trees go fast.
You can also buy a Christmas tree stand. Card payments have been accepted in past years.
What it cost last year
To give you a rough idea, here’s what it cost in 2025:
- Medium tree $110
- Large tree $145
- Delivery $20
- Christmas tree stand $45
Prices were the same in 2024. This year’s prices are still to be confirmed.
Keep it fresh
Keep plenty of water in the stand and your tree should last until Christmas Day.
Why it matters
It takes a lot to keep a busy Scout group running. Money from the tree sale goes towards equipment, activities and maintaining the group’s boats and halls.
