www.inthecove.com.au is here. Lane Cove, this is your website. We asked for your feedback about what the site should include and where possible we have included those features. We will be continuing to upload new features all the time. Lane Cove is about being local. Local web developer Kaye Martin from K Graphics developed the site. Local graphic artist Jacquie Larcombe from Appletree Designs will be coming on board to assist us. Our SEO expert is Sarah Spence (another local). Kylie Dunlop from Kylie Dunlop Photography is a gold sponsor of the website and will be snapping photos for us.
ITC would like to thank Sue Manning for all her hard work and support in developing the site. Sue is our head of content at ITC. Sue was one of our very early Facebook Fans and an avid roving reporter. She is now part of team ITC.
The site includes the following:
Latest News
If it happens in Lane Cove it will be on www.inthecove.com.au. We will be also digging deeper into issues (watch out Lane Cove Council and the State Government). We will be asking the questions that you want to ask. For the last three years we have been working behind the scenes to draw Council’s attention to matters that impact residents on a daily basis and we will continue to do this. Our Facebook Fans have raised with us many issues and we will continue to work to solve these.
Business Directory
Every week we receive unsolicited recommendations from Lane Cove residents wanting to thank a business for going the extra mile. Now you will be able to post those recommendations directly to the business directory. Word of mouth is so important when you are looking for a local business and the business directory will be a great place to look at other people’s experiences. The business directory will fund the website. If you own a local business and would like to take advantage of our pre launch special rates please email us asap.
Lost and Found
One of ITC’s biggest success stories is our ability to reunite people with their lost pets. We think our record is 42 minutes (where we reunited a lost bunny and his family). Have a look at our blog where we set out some of our success stories in finding Lost and Found .
Events
We encourage you to list local events in our events calendar.
In the Cove loves to promote local Lane Cove events. We have established our Lane Cove events calendar so that all local organisations (such as sporting groups, community groups, art groups, charities or any other not for profit) can promote their event to a very targeted local area for free. We encourage events to be listed from all suburbs in the Lane Cove Council region and suburbs that connect to Lane Cove.
If you are a local business and would like to promote an event, please feel free to submit your event. There is a limit to the number of events we like to publish per day, so we will give priority listings to businesses that have supported In The Cove by advertising in our business directory. If you would like to know more about about our Local Lane Cove Business Directory please email us here
Sporting clubs will be able to post their registration days, Schools will be able to let you know about fetes, festivals and fundraisers. The local arts community such as Gallery Lane Cove and the Lane Cove Theatre Company will be able to include their local events.
Classifieds
We often get asked about advertising local jobs, giving away free stuff or selling stuff locally – this will be the place to list all of those thing for FREE
We are working hard to include all the information you need to live in Lane Cove. If you would like to know the progress of the website and also have our newsletter sent to you please subscribe to our newsletter here:
Local info
This section of the website will be constantly updated and further categories added. We put a call out to all Local Community groups to list. We are still adding the information. If there is a local info category you would like, please tell us and we will try and include it. For example we are working on a complete listing of playgroups in the area.
We could not have done this without the terrific support of our Foundation Sponsors. Our Foundation Sponsors have funded the development of the web site. Please thank them by using their services. They are all local businesses with a community focus.
Apple Dental
ITC has had a love/hate relationships with Dentists over the years, however since starting ITC and meeting the team at Apple Dental my thoughts have changed. Apple Dental has invested in the best equipment to make sure that you have a comfortable dental experience. With their CEROC equipment they can undertake difficult work in one session. This week Apple Dental celebrated 23 years in Lane Cove. They also recently won an award for community sponsorship. Apple Dental was one of the first to put their hand up to become a foundation sponsor. Read our blog here about Mark Casiglia.

Lane Cove Orthodontics
ITC first became aware of Lane Cove Orthodontics when they sponsored Miss ITC’s school’s main fundraising evening (and they have done it every year since). They were so generous and gave away a treatment for a live auction. I will never forget the auctioneer saying Don’t be Bucky cmon get Lucky and win this auction. Since that time Miss ITC has become a patient of DR T REX (yes that is correct). LCO is such a professional practice. ITC highly recommends this practice.

When you are looking to book an overseas trip, it seems like a good idea to book it yourself on the internet. You think it is going to be so easy to book all your own travel. Well guess what it is not. You really need someone with extensive knowledge to tell you the tips and tricks. ITC has received some glowing recommendations from people who have used Trendsetter Travel. One family recently returned from Vietnam and Cambodia and said the trip was so thoroughly planned with guides everyday all arranged by Trendsetter Travel. The bottom line is they know their stuff.

Lane Cove Physio
For years all my sporty friends (who inevitably end up with an injury) kept on talking about a great physio called Jack at the end of Longueville Road. Well after a recent knee injury I now know Jack from Lane Cove Physio. I am now a regular user of thee hydrotherapy pool. The pool has recently been converted to Ozone. You spend time in the pool with a qualified physio. They have a sports injury clinic on a monday night where you can go alone for a free assessment.
