Wow, how fast do the school holidays go! It won’t be long before it’s back to school, and it is time to plan for some Term 1 Activities. Will your kids be taking it easy after school and on the weekends, or will they be participating in some fun activities, learning a new skill, playing sport, or just getting out of their comfort zone for an hour a week?!

Sport, Fitness and Mindfulness
Little Legends main goal is to make playing sport and exercising fun. Giving children the confidence to play games in the playground, means making friends and feeling comfortable in the classroom will be a more enjoyable experience.

Kidfit Club – Give your child a healthy active and fun start! For kids aged 5-12 years of age. Kidfit Club offer Holiday Camps, as well as before and after school programs. The before and after school programs are at St Michaels but they will walk the kids down to Lane Cove Public School. So if you want your kids to have some exercise before or after school this is a great idea.
Run by qualified educators, who aim to meet the needs of each individual in a safe and supportive environment. Sessions take place at St Michael’s School, on Longueville Road.
The Brewer Swimming school program caters for every individual, aiming to develop water confidence and facilitate water safety skills in a safe and fun environment. Our instructors are AUSTSWIM, Swim Australia or ASCTA qualified and receive additional training in implementing our teaching philosophy and lesson curriculum.
Our venues are St Ignatius College, Riverview and Riverside Corporate Park, North Ryde.
The physical aspects of Teens Yoga will stretch, strengthen and tone your body – which complements the sport you play by increasing focus and preventing injury AND is ideal for desk-sitters and slouchers.
Aside from the physical benefits, teenagers learn skills for coping with the unique issues they”re faced with everyday: exams & expectations, stressful schedules & situations, friendships and relationships, and the enormous pressure to fit in.

School can be stressful, arm your child with some strategies to help them tackle everyday life. Blissfulness.com.au is a new programme developed by a Lane Cove resident to help kids increase their confidence and self-esteem. Speak to your school about implementing these programmes or arrange for a custom programme for your child. Blissfulness designs custom meditations for young people of all ages. If you would like a specific mediation or creative visualization for your child, that assists with a certain issue, please visit our shop and you can place an order through the ‘Custom Order’ option.
GymbaROO is a parent/child educational program researched over 24 years to enhance the development of essential gross and fine motor skills in children. They also assist to inform parents/carers of the early childhood development in health, learning and behaviour. Classes are developmentally age appropriate and loads of fun! Bring your child along to crawl, creep, jump, hop, swing, roll, tumble, hang, climb, sing and dance their way to healthy physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. Each parent/carer receives a neurological hand out each week.

Early Learning World – Letterland Preschool Literacy classes
Run by Early Learning World, in Lane Cove North, Letterland is a child-friendly, multi-sensory system for teaching children to read, write and spell. The secret of its worldwide success lies in its pictogram characters and their ability to make learning fun! The classes go for 45 minutes over a 9 week term.
Letterland classes are held at the West Chatswood Community Learning Rooms at 565 Mowbray Road, Lane Cove. This beautifully appointed facility is right next door to the West Chatswood library; there is also a cafe, playground and ample parking for parents.
Corsi e Percorsi can help you give your child the gift of a second language! Their Italian Language courses are suitable for 5-9 year olds, and are held on Longueville Road, near Lane Cove Public School.
