Welcome to our Lane Cove Business monthly round up of all business happenings during June 2017. If it opened, closed, rebranded, refurbed or anything else, we’ve (hopefully) covered it here!
New Businesses/Now Open
A new Sports Podiatry Clinic has opened inside the Lane Cove Doctors Medical Centre, at 118 Longueville Road. Sydney Heel Pain owns several branches across Sydney.
We’re not real sure if this is a good fit for Lane Cove, but Cignall Specialist Tobacconist has very recently opened on Burns Bay Road, next to the Burns Bay Bookery.
Closing or Closed
Laughing Ganesha Indian Restaurant unexpectedly closed during the month. The site has been stripped out, and apparently the shop will not be used as a restaurant. More details when available.
Zest Gelateria Cafe
So long to Rachael and the team at Zest Gelateria Cafe. Zest closed during the month. At one stage Zest was the only place in Lane Cove to serve Gelato at school finish time. ITC will miss their Melting Moments.
Cobden & Hayson Real Estate
After a fairly brief stint on Longueville Road, Cobden & Hayson has closed their Lane Cove office. They do hope to return again in the future though.
The Bath House used to be located in Northbridge. The owners actually live in the Lane Cove Council Area. After years and years of offering their expert advice to renovators and home builders, they decided to retire. They have stock in storage and are selling it at cost price or below. Check out their website. You might find what you want at a really good price. The stock is stored locally and is quite accessible for viewing. If you have any questions regarding the website products, please call 02 9967 4000, leave a message, and your call will be returned or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Business Changes or New Ownership/Management
Starting at the beginning of June, Mowbray Eatery is opening up dinner on the first Friday and Saturday night of the month. As always, seasonal, local and delicious produce on an ever-changing menu. Bookings via Facebook Inbox or phone in 9427 8083.
Bella Bacio Cafe is now open each week for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. Bella Bacio is located on Centennial Avenue, under the Sevana Apartments.
La Provence Patisserie was closed for a few weeks for a complete refurb, and re-opened during the month as La Provence Espresso Bar.
The Art Deco wonder that was the Virginia Anne Hair Salon has been rebranded and renamed Chill Hair Salon. The salon is well known thanks to its beautiful round windows and its prominent position at Burns Bay Road Shops.
PosAbility Psychology and Learning Clinic has moved from upstairs in the Rosenthal Arcade, to Lane Cove West Business Park. PosAbility provides tutoring, assessment, counselling and OT services for children with special needs.
Heard Through the Grapevine
Pssst….. we’ve heard whispers about:
- A Mexican Restaurant opening ITC, location TBA
- Either a Burger Bar or a Wine Bar opening in the site that was L’Italiano on Longueville Road
- A high-end Japanese Restaurant opening upstairs, next to Bar Blaq, where Indian Fusion was previously
Also waiting to find out what’s going into the Magnolia development display office and the neighbouring shop (which used to be Noodle King) on Longueville Road. They have both recently been leased.
North Shore’s Best Snag
