We all know that Lane Covians are big pet lovers, and there are lots of cats living ITC. Well, what you may not know is that there is a local cattery, where your feline family members can go on their own vacation next time you are heading off on yours. Dr Paws Cattery is located on the Pacific Highway, and is part of the Dr Paws Vet. (They also have a second cattery located in North Ryde).
We asked Dr Paws to tell us more about their cattery and why Lane Covians should leave their precious bundles with them.
At the Dr Paws Cattery we take pride in everything we do! Our cattery has recently been re-designed and extended to ensure that your cat has a safe, secure and enjoyable home away from home. All cats are checked by a friendly and professional nurse or vet before being admitted into the cattery and all animals are fed, checked and bedding changes twice daily. You can rest assured that during their stay with us, your cat will be given the best care and plenty of TLC.
Requirements for boarding
We want to make sure that your pet is safe from sneezes, wheezes and contagious diseases during their stay! For this reason, we require all pets to be up to date with their vaccinations, worming and flea treatment. Owners must provide evidence (including product name and date of application/treatment) that their cat has been given all of the following:
– F3 vaccination within the past 12 months
– All wormer tablets or Profender wormer spot-on within
the past 3 months
– Flea treatment within the past month
lf we are unable to confirm that your pet is up to date with all of the above, then they will provided with what they need on admission and this will be charged to your account. We recommend you book in to see a vet when dropping your pet off so that we can discuss any relevant history and physical examination findings with you. This consult is free of charge, available by appointment.
lf you are travelling overseas then we ask that you leave the name and number of an emergency contact in Australia who is authorised to act on your behalf if we are unable to reach you.
What food do you use?
At the Dr Paws Cattery we believe in precise nutrition, that’s why we recommend feeding cats a Royal Canin neutered diet. Cats are fed premium Royal Canin Neutered Adult Cat food.
lf your cat is on a special diet or the above food is not suitable, then we kindly ask that you leave with us enough of the special food to last the duration of their stay. If not enough food is provided, we will source the food or a suitable substitute which will be charged to your account.
Leaving toys and blankets
We do not recommend leaving bedding/blankets or toys with your cat as they are likely to be lost in our laundry pile! Labelled cat carriers may be left at the clinic at your own risk.
The cattery is open by appointment for people to walk through and view the facility. Please contact the Dr Paws Cattery directly on 9428 1174 to arrange a viewing.
We offer a weekly email photo of your feline friend. Provide us with your email address upon checking in and let us do the snapping!
