New Businesses/Now Open
Carlile Swimming is not a new kid on the block but they have relocated to 4 Sirius Road Lane Cove West. They have opened a state of the art swimming pool, purpose-built as a swim school. They would love you to come to Lane Cove West and tour the new facilities – you will be impressed!
Graze Catering is a new Lane Cove business, bringing the “beauty and joy of food to your event; platters, cakes & canapés”.
Shorties Lane Cove is due to open Mid-November. It is going to be a ‘small bar’, owned by the team behind The Hayberry Bar in Crows Nest. The new bar will be opening in the old L’italiano site on Longueville Road.
Opening soon, above the Cake Man, next to Bar Blaq, is Akira Sushi. They currently operate a business in Chatswood.
After extensive renovations of the old Mandalay Function Centre, it’s almost time for Lane Cove’s newest childcare centre to open Little Learning School Lane Cove.
Businesses We Just Heard About
Wag ‘N’ Walk is a local dog walker – “I’m Ruby, I am in my tweens. I have had a dog of my own for around 3 years. I have loved dogs from a very young age, and it has been a massive privilege to own one myself. I assure you I will look after your dog as if it were my own.”
Your Fitness PT is a Lane Cove based Personal Trainer, who specialises in strengthening and conditioning young athletes to excel in their competitive sports. Having coached kids at state, national and international levels, they understand the importance of physical and mental preparation before they step out on that field or track.
U Light Me Up is a local candle store that specializes in luxury candles in beautiful cut glass pieces.
Creation Federation is bringing coding to everyone with a passionate team of expert tutors
and a mission to take you from code amateur to code ace (whilst having an awesome time too). They are not just building a community of coders they are building a community of creators. Join the Creation Federation – one of the founders is a Lane Cove local.
Closed or Closing
DKOR Interiors is closing down in the near future and having an End of Lease Sale.
Ziera Shoes is also closing down soon. They have a sale on, with all stock reduced.
Ground Caffe (located between the Library and The Source Bulk Foods) has a new owner, who is starting to make subtle changes to the business, such as flowers on the tables and jazzy music playing. More changes are in the pipeline.
La Piazza is still under renovation and we will let you know as soon as it opens.
Lodge Tapas is now offering mid-week pasta meals.
La Provence is now open 7 days a week and the chocolates from Belle Fleur have returned.
Heard Through the Grapevine
A new Mediterranean restaurant is planned on the site of the old Noodle King. More details when they come to hand.
We have also heard on the grapevine that Guzman Y Gomez could be coming to Lane Cove – stayed tuned for that one.
A new eyebrow bar and tanning salon might be opening in Lane Cove – we will let you know when this is confirmed.
Congratulations to Julie Furlong and her team at D+M Pty Ltd (Design + Marketing). They are a boutique agency located in Lane Cove providing a variety of marketing and design work for a diverse client base. They just celebrated their 18th year in Lane Cove.
Happy 1st Birthday to Big Wild Imagination! They are celebrating a year since they opened the doors to their studio in Lane Cove West, where they have watched children engage in experiences that encouraged them to explore, experiment, question, create and let their imaginations run wild.
More Birthday congratulations are in order, for The Code Personal Training Studio, who are also celebrating their 1st Anniversary in Lane Cove! The Code are located in The Village Shopping Centre, opposite Coles.
