Win A Family Pass to the Sydney Royal Easter Show

The 2018 Sydney Royal Easter Show is fast approaching.  The Show will run from Friday 23 March to Tuesday 3 April 2018.

The Royal Easter Show offers the best value day out in Sydney with 12 hours of free entertainment every day.

In the Cove is giving you a chance to win a Family Pass (2 Adults and 2 Kids).  All you have to do is Email us and tell us in 25 Words or Less what is your favourite thing to do at the Royal Easter Show.  The competition closes at midnight 16 March 2018.  (an individual ticket is valued at $42.50).  Make sure you include your name, postal address and email address.

If you want to buy a ticket now, buy tickets online before the Show starts and save!  A family of 4 can purchase a ticket for $99.50 plus $2.60 handling fee which includes public transport to and from the show.

The theme of this year’s Sydney Royal Easter Show is the Country comes to the City.  The Tamworth Conservatorium of Music choir will be performing at the opening ceremony.

Street Parades

(4 pm and 6 pm)


A 75m long parade of circus acts, dancing troupes and street theatre. This will be sure to entertain all show-goers with an array of entertainers including gypsy wagons, electronic animals, circus performers, children’s TV Show characters and theatre acts. This one is sure to be a hit with the kids.
The Amphitheatre


Enjoy the array of acts in the Amphitheatre. Psycho Sideshow will be showcasing Lizardman, Captain Frodo and the Space Cowboy. Play along with Nickelodeon’s PAW Patrol characters including Ryder, Chase and Marshall. There’ll even be Poppy and Branch from the movie Trolls. Have a boogie with the characters from Despicable Me 3.
Farm of the Future


Come and check out the newest innovations in agriculture. How do robots, drones and virtual reality fit into agriculture? Watch how mustering is done by a drone, how a crop can be planted by a robot and you’ll leave thinking you’ve just stepped off the farm with the virtual reality exhibit.
Little Hands on the Land


Little Hands on the Land is a kid-sized working farm designed to teach littlies agriculture from crop to shop. The children journey through nine stations where they collect produce to take to market. Once there, they trade it in for ‘farm dollars’ which can be spent at the supermarket.
The Stables


The Stables is your on-trend fine food and beverage destination with Australia’s finest producers on show. This year the Stables will feature Burger Head, Pablitos (Mexican), Balls by Jimmy Liks and Adore Coffee Pop Up
‘Foodtruck Feedlot’Food trucks will line up to deliver an array of delicious, freshly cooked food. No one goes hungry here, customers can choose from Mexican, American BBQ and Greek, and can sit down to enjoy their meals in the paddock.
Fabulous FoodThe feature food of the 2018 Show is ‘Donut Pies’ – they look like donuts, taste like pies and come with five filling options: meat pie, spinach and cheese, and bangers and mash, as well as sweet options of Apple Pie and Dulce De Leche!

There are always cheap and cheerful food options and The Cheese Factory’s $2 cheese toasties never disappoint!

Rural Achievers


This state wide rural leadership program recognises the best and brightest young (20-29 years) industry leaders who have made a significant contribution to their community and to rural Australia. Rural Achievers play an active role at the Show, with one participant selected to represent NSW at the National Rural Ambassador Award.
Heritage Pavilion Take a trip to the past with a 1950’s themed pavilion. Take a photo on a tram, hop on and off the double decker bus, and check out what men and women wore back in the day!
Woodchopping & Sawing


A crowd favourite for over a century, the Woodchopping & Sawing Competition attracts over 240 male and female competitors from Australia and overseas.  Widely recognised as the ‘Wimbledon of Woodchopping’, an event is run every 10 minutes over 11 days of competition. It is held in a purpose built stadium and includes five World Championship events watched by capacity crowds.
Animal NurseryThe animal nursery is your one stop shop to get your fix of cute animals. Pat the goats, and feed the Shetland ponies in this hands-on feature.
Exhibitor competitionsSydney Royal is famous for its wide array of competitions. The below are just a few examples:

  •       Honey: See the honey bee display and sample the                winning honey exhibit.
  •      Cattle: Check out the cattle pavilion and watch them             prepare for the show ring.
  •      Cooking: There are hours of preparation that go into the       cake competitions, see for yourself the artistic display.
Giant Pumpkin weigh-in


Imagine a pumpkin as big as a car. That’s the kind of vegetable they’ll be weighing at this year’s giant pumpkin weigh-in. these pumpkins have been lovingly cared for and grown to reach maximum height – come and see who will take out the top prize!
New RidesThe Show has two new rides including the high-speed spinning Xtreme Soundwave while the 2017 hit for thrill seekers ‘The Beast” which swings riders to 45 metres above the ground returns in 2018.
