Warning About Thieves Stealing Audi’s in the Lane Cove Council Area

There have been 3 Audi cars stolen from Lane Cove and Riverview in the last week. This is what one person told ITC:

“My Audi Q5 was stolen from my driveway last night. I’m in Alder Ave. So keep all doors and valuables locked and keys hidden!

They broke into my house and took my key from my bench! I woke to my dogs barking their heads off at early hours, but nothing else was stolen.”

Tips on how to make sure your car is not stolen here.

Fig Tree Bridge Works

Transport for NSW  will carry out maintenance work on Fig Tree Bridge, Burns Bay Road, Linley Point from Sunday 17 January, as part of ongoing maintenance of State bridges.

TfNSW will be on site for 10-night shifts between Sunday 17 January and Friday 26 February (weather permitting) between 8:00 pm and 5:00 pm, Sunday to Friday. The work needs to be carried out at night to minimise traffic disruption and reduce safety risks to the workers and motorists. Work will not be carried out more than two nights in any week and no more than six nights in one month.

The Passion Effect Podcast

Jack Pittman is a Lane Cove local who has set up a podcast to feature people with passion. He very kindly interviewed ITC about my passion for In the Cove. Jack is about to start his second year of Uni, so it is lovely to see someone so young with a passion for finding out about people in the community who have a particular passion. Huge Plant Sale

A message from Keith and Maureene Smith founders of the Huge Plant Sale.

“Last October’s Huge Plant Sale raised just over $14,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. The plants aren’t expensive, so one of the ways they raise so much is by value-adding. Pots are donated, or Keith and Maureene buy decorative containers. You will often see them in Vinnies looking for treasures to plant up, and that way they can charge a little more. Keith sometimes has to drill a drainage hole in them, but that’s not a problem. In his man cave, he has all the necessary tools. So if you have any unwanted decorative containers lying around, please donate them to this good cause. You can contact them on 9427 3550 or by email [email protected]. Examples of some of their donated pots are below.”
