Gallery Lane Cove – Kirana Haag and Open Bite Printmakers & Southern Highlands Printmakers – Gallery Open Saturday 5 November 2022  Saturday 10.00 am to 2.30 pm

If you’ve never been to Gallery Lane Cove (located across from the Library), you should pop in and see one of their latest exhibitions. Entry is free.

Moving from Dark to Light by Kirana Haag

Her Gallery Lane Cove exhibition is developed from the wish to create beauty from the difficulties of a painful childhood using an experimental way of painting for the artist.

Kirana Haag seeks to transfer grief and past trauma into a healed, love-filled and warm experience, wishing to become part of the natural movement from dark to light.

Open Bite Printmakers & Southern Highlands Printmakers

This exhibition showcases an innovative print exchange between Open Bite Printmakers and the Southern Highland Printmakers.

Forty-Four artists from Open Bite Printmakers and Southern Highland Printmakers participated in a print exchange project during 2020-2021. Now Open Bite Printmakers are hosting an exhibition at Gallery Lane Cove showing the resulting paired prints.

Each artist has created two unique prints: one reflecting their own practice and interests and a second responding to another artist’s work.

Open Bite Printmakers are a group of Sydney-based artists whose mission is to facilitate, develop and educate in the field of printmaking. They are always looking to exhibit their diverse range of printmaking techniques.

The Southern Highland Printmakers was formed in 1993 to foster printmaking in the area. They currently have 23 exhibiting members. Over the years, the SHP has built a reputation for quality and innovation, with members exhibiting widely – locally, nationally and internationally. Many also teach printmaking in seminars and Arts Centres programmes.

Printmaking Demonstration Day: Saturday, 5 November, 10 am – 12 pm

Meet the artists. Go downstairs to the Printmaking Studio and watch some of the artists at work. Chat with them, ask lots of questions, and learn about their processes and techniques in an informal setting
