About ten days ago, an ITC roving reporter spotted an ALDI Limo at The Canopy. No one could explain why the limo was there. ITC has the answer.
The Limousine had taken 95-year-old Lane Cove Local Phyllis Brooks, AKA Nanny, to ALDI. Phyllis normally walks the 15-minute walk from her home to ALDI.
An ADLD spokesperson told ITC:
“While grocery shopping is a necessity, it’s always great to hear of customers who consider their ALDI visits as more of an adventure than a chore. When we heard Phyllis has become a fixture of Sydney’s Lane Cove store in recent years, and always offers up a smile after pushing her mobility trolley for 15-minute journey to the store, we wanted to surprise her with an extra special ALDI shopping trip she’d never forget.”
ALDI spoilt Phyllis by picking her up from her home in a Limo stocked with ALDI champers, biscuits and chocolate.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, guess where Nanny’s going? ALDI (and also to the newsagent for the lottery).
Every other day of the week? She’s still heading to ALDI to stock up on the finer things in life ice cream, biscuits and a few sneaky chocolates (queen behaviour if you ask us).
Well done, Phyllis, what a treat, and you had Lane Cove talking.
Check out Phyllis in the video below. In the video with Phyllis are her daughter Marianne Mansfield and Yeshi Nyima (ALDI store manager Lane Cove).
Mystery solved.
